Thrifty bride’s $3 wedding dress made her look like a royal

A bride has revealed that she bought her wedding dress secondhand for only $3.

Earlier this week, Rachel Muse Connealy shared a video on TikTok showing off the full-length silk gown she wore to her wedding ceremony.

“I thrifted this silk dress right after we got engaged and still wore it for the ceremony,” wrote the newlywed on her video’s caption.

The ethereal white dress featured draping across the bodice and a sheer capelet. She paired the white gown with a matching sheer veil and white stacked heel sandals.

Rachel opted for a simple (and cheap) classic white wedding dress for her ceremony. Photos from TikTok / @rachelconnealy.

But that wasn't the only thrifted dress she wore that day. Rachel found another ‘dream wedding dress’ at Goodwill for $5, two weeks before officially getting married.

“You never know what you’ll find at the thrift shop two weeks before your wedding,” said Rachel, who wore the less formal dress to her wedding reception.

The mini dress has puffy white sleeves and a flouncy floral lace skirt, giving a more whimsical look.

Rachel’s wedding clips on TikTok gained over 1.4 million views since posting, with many comments expressing how great she looked in the wedding dresses and how impressive her thrift finds are.

One follower wrote: “Amazing finds, I don’t know how you did it, but they are both so unique & beautiful!”

“Genuinely stunning. Like something out of a magazine,” another added.

A third person agreed, saying, “Loving the minimalist look, it also seems very expensive.”

Amazingly, many comments also pointed out her similarities with Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, who also opted for a classic white gown for her own wedding.

“You remind me of gorgeous Meghan Markle here!” wrote one person, with another saying: “I thought you were Meghan Markle!”

In total, Rachel spent less than $10 on her two wedding outfits. The average cost of a wedding dress, including alterations, goes between $500 to $25,000 or more.

That's wonderful!!! there is NO need for all the bells and whistles, so many spend thousands to wear it once!

I still don't understand how you can get ANY dress for $3, let alone a wedding dress
You just have to be in the right place at the right time, something I am never able to be

It was funny when I read that last part...I too thought she looked like Meghan Markle and she even had a simple straight satin gown that looked like her wedding dress.... it looked better than the lace mini... she should use the mini as her 'going away' dress to change into at end of reception.
