This woman's ‘vintage’ bikini is going viral - take a look!

The 90s were a great decade for fashion (as well as music, movies, and television), so it's no surprise that some people are dusting off old clothes and wearing them once again.
One woman's recent attempt at 90s nostalgia has gone viral for the same reason!
You see, the outfit she chose to try on wasn't just any old get-up — it was her grandma's swimsuit!
In a post, TikTok user Tyffany explained that she came across the brightly-coloured apparel after visiting her Granny and Poppa over the weekend.
‘My Granny comes out with this bathing suit in it,’ she said with the charming Southern US drawl in her accent.
‘Can we just talk about the colour… for a second?’
Tyffany tried to find out when exactly the two-piece bikini was bought but to no avail!
‘All she said was “I’ve had it for a long time, and it looks mighty fine.”’

'After a quick Google search, it looks like it was made in the late 80s, early 90s.’
Not wasting time, Tiffany quickly put on the garment… and she looks right out of a Baywatch poster!
‘Stop,’ she said in awe of how the bathing suit complimented her figure.
‘Granny has style!’
‘I only wish that the top has adjustable straps so that they fit a little bit tighter — but oh my goodness.’
Taking things a step further, she then donned a black wide-brimmed hat and posed for a bit, as if she was enjoying a warm soak in the sun on the Gold Coast.
‘I’m ready for a drink. Bartender, pour me another one.’ she said in glee.
Pleased with her appearance, Tyfanny was clearly taken with the vintage bikini.
‘This is going to get packed for our Vegas trip.’
And on the topic of nostalgia, she also shared a few thoughts your kids and grandkids might be having too.

‘Also, it’s kind of weird to call 90s “vintage” because I was born in the 90s… am I vintage?’
‘I think I’m pretty damn valuable!’
That’s the spirit, Tyf!
Her post racked in thousands of views, with most users praising her for her bubbly disposition and innocent rambling.
‘You are so sweet and adorable,’ one user said.
Another added: ‘That looks really cute on you!’
‘Vintage… I thought you were going to say 50s!’ a user said jokingly.
‘Girl, vintage? (Laughing out loud) You look beautiful though,’ another added.
Tyfanny does raise a great point though: at what point is an item considered vintage?
Among jewellers, vintage would mean a piece of jewellery more than 20 years old but less than a hundred.

Ask car enthusiasts, and they’d tell you vintage cars would be those manufactured roughly in the early 1900s from 1919-1930.
And for wine connoisseurs, vintage is less a period than it is a process. Apparently, vintage wines all feature grapes harvested within the same year.
So, vintage wine from 1951 isn’t vintage because it’s ‘old’ per se — it’s vintage because most, if not all, of the grapes used to make it were processed in 1951.
Neat, right?
In the meantime, we hope Tyfanny’s enjoying her Vegas trip. (Though, we have better beaches and views Down Under!)
Speaking of vintage, you might enjoy reading about this jar of Vegemite from the 1930s with a serving suggestion many found bizarre, or this couple taking their love of everything vintage to the extreme.
What is your reaction to Tyfanny’s grandma’s bikini?
And how about you: what point would you consider an item vintage?
