It’s getting toward dinner time, but I’ve lost my appetite. 😆
Sorry for that, but having had, out of politeness to my assorted hosts and colleagues, to lunch and dine on hacked up boiled hen, boiled cabbage and cold rice, with fish sauce (and keep smiling), almost interminably for possibly 6 weeks, that roast leg of dog came as a welcome relief. Vietnamese countryside cooking is everything as bad as the boiled beef, boiled cabbage and lumpy mashed potatoes of my primary school's dinners, but at least we had fried battered fish and boiled cabbage and lumpy mashed potatoes on Fridays. British wartime cooking, as in north Vietnam, remained common-place 15 years after WW2 and likewise also after the Vietnam War.

No worries. I think I would’ve starved in your situation! 😊

I’ve been using Nutra Organics chicken bone broth for years. It’s good as a drink in a mug and also adds great flavour (and nutrition) to the water when cooking rice etc.
What's with this organics stuff. You pay through the nose. Looks at the price of organic vegetables, nearly double the price and they don't look any different to the normal veges. How do you know if they are organic

I used to buy organic fruit and veg (sometimes), but found they were not very fresh in addition to being overpriced.

There are others that are not as expensive but buy bones from the butcher and add cider vinegar, just a tablespoon. Cook in a slow cooker (they are cheap to buy) for 12, 24, or even 48 hours. Start on high till the liquid starts to bubble then turn to low. A cup a day is great. Add lots of salt (not a health issue in spite of what they say)
Pepper is better
