This shopper's 'hot tip' will help you score bargain meat items - without even going to the supermarket!

We all love a good bargain, especially when it comes to groceries. So you can imagine how excited we were when we heard about this savvy shopper's recent meat haul from her local wholesale butcher!

For just $38, she managed to snag twenty chicken skewers (ten of which were marinated), four lean pork steaks, six beef sausages, and eight chicken garlic herb rissoles. Talk about value for money!

The Queensland woman behind the find, Josie, took to Facebook to share her 'hot tip' with fellow shoppers looking for ways to save.

So how did she do it? Apparently, all you need to do is find a local wholesale butcher in your area instead of going straight to the supermarket.

While butcher meat has a tendency to be more expensive than supermarket meat at face value, Josie says it pays off in quality and quantity in the long run. And judging by the huge amount of food she got for such a low price, we're inclined to believe her!

Others who saw her post agreed that this was a game-changing shopping tip.

One person wrote: 'I just saw an ad for a wholesale butcher in Adelaide, and I looked, and the website prices were amazing - I'm going next week. I never realised it existed!'

A butcher shop owner also responded to the post, assuring fellow buyers that their meat is of higher quality and more affordable than that of other major supermarkets.

If you are interested in finding local butchers in your area, Josie provided some suggestions that may be of help to you, which are as follows:
  1. Simply type 'wholesale butchers near me' into Google, and you'll get a list of all the wholesale butchers in your area. You can also ask people around the neighbourhood if they know anyone!
  2. Choose a butchery (or multiple ones if you're feeling ambitious) and see if they have social media pages or a website for more information. This way, you can get a peek at their prices before making the trip.
  3. Head to the butcher of your choice to do some hunting for meat deals!
Key Takeaways

  • A mother has revealed how she managed to snap up a huge haul of meat for just $38 by shopping at a local wholesale butcher instead of a supermarket.
  • Wholesale butchers tend to sell meat at a higher quality and for a lower price than supermarkets.
  • Shopping at a wholesale butcher can be a great way to save money on meat purchases.

So there you have it, members – if you want to get more bang for your buck, then remember Josie's advice next time you go grocery shopping! You save money on meat items and help out local businesses at the same time. It's a win-win situation.

This way, you won't also have to deal with the frustration of discovering that the meat you bought at the supermarket isn't actually what you thought it was… These days, money can be quite difficult to come by, especially for retirees, which is why we want to get the most value possible out of the things we buy!

I had a wholesale butcher near me but unfortunately it closed maybe 3 years ago. Quality at a low price.

I have since found another one where I buy lamb loin chops for $16 kg , good quality mince $9, t bone steak $14 kg and scotch fillet 2kg $25
The quality is top quality

One of the downsides of living rural is that we don't have many options locally. Other than supermarkets we have one butcher shop and their prices are astronomical, although I must admit their meat looks a whole lot nicer than the offerings at the supermarket.;)

Quite apart from the pork chops & the chicken skewers, why would you buy rissoles? or those red sausages? Maybe if you have kids that you give inferior food to but not for me thankyou.
