I have all sorts of disjointed memories about a chef, whose name was perhaps Galland or something similar, Lady Lamington, Brisbane, unexpected guests and Old Government House, so I'm going to guess - A GOVERNMENT HOUSE.
 
That would be in Old Government House in Brisbane. When they had no fresh cake to share with a visiting dignitary so the chef put a chocolate and coconut on cubes of sponge cake which were past their best.
