This once-sizzling beach bombshell from the 70s is unrecognisable! Can you guess who?

Time has a way of altering our perceptions, especially when it comes to the luminaries of the silver screen.

The glitz and glamour of Hollywood often portray timeless beauty and eternal youth, but even the brightest stars blend into the tapestry of everyday life as the years roll by.

This was precisely the case for an actress who, in the late 70s, became the epitome of beachside allure and whose image once adorned countless walls and hearts across the globe.

It's been over four decades since she captured the world's attention, sprinting along a sun-kissed Mexican shoreline, her skin aglow with a dark golden tan, clad in a shimmering gold one-piece swimsuit, her hair woven into beaded cornrows.

At just 23, she was the fantasy of many, a vision of the 'perfect woman' with high cheekbones, a symmetrical face, sky-blue eyes, and a figure that seemed sculpted by the gods themselves.

Fast forward to today, and this once-iconic figure of Hollywood's golden era was spotted in Summerland, California, a world away from the glitz of her heyday.

At 67, the petite blonde, now dressed in a green flowered blouse, white linen pants, and canvas sneakers, with dark sunglasses shielding her eyes, went completely unnoticed as she patiently waited for her salad at a café.

The woman in question? None other than Bo Derek, the Hollywood veteran who once set the standard for beach beauty.

Despite her fame, Bo appeared to relish the anonymity that time had granted her. She observed other customers, shared smiles with their dogs, and seemed content to watch the world go by.

Bo was referred to as an 'extreme heat refugee.' With temperatures soaring to a scorching 43°C degrees in the United States, she and a friend made the wise decision to escape 36 miles south to the cooler coastal breezes.

'Ah, I just love that ocean breeze,' Bo was overheard saying.

After enjoying her lunch, Bo and her companion browsed the retail section of a café, where Bo was seen perusing books, candles, soaps, and lotions.

Their outing didn't end there. The duo visited Mary Suding Antiques and a new pop-up clothing store at The Big Yellow House in the United States, where Bo picked out a bright pink floral silk robe.

They even stopped by the Summerland Antique Collective, a hotspot for celebrity clientele, including Oprah Winfrey.

Bo Derek's rise to fame came with the 1979 movie 10, where she starred opposite Dudley Moore.

The film's title referred to Moore's character's rating of Derek's looks on a scale of one to ten—a rating that Bo has maintained gracefully over the years, opting to age naturally without the aid of plastic surgery.

In a 2018 interview with Closer magazine, Bo shared her thoughts on aging in the spotlight: 'There is a certain expectation [to look young].’

‘I get credit on one hand for not having a facelift, and then, on the other hand, it's “Why doesn't she do something?” So you're just torn. I just have to keep busy, have other interests, and try not to think about it,’ she added.

Bo enjoys a fulfilling life with her second husband, Sex and The City actor John Corbett, on their ‘Cliff Manor' ranch.

She keeps her 5'3' frame fit not by hitting the gym but by swimming and doing ranch work.

'We don't have help,' she told Oprah Winfrey in 2011. 'I like the chores. I'd rather clean stalls than do exercises in front of a mirror!'

Born Mary Cathleen Collins in Long Beach, California, Bo was a child model before being renamed by her first husband, actor and director John Derek, whom she met at 16 and married at 18.

After his passing in 1998, she eventually found love again with John Corbett, whom she married in 2020.

Good on her aging gracefully. At least Bo looks normal. It's very refreshing. She is comfortable being who she is as we all should be as we age.
We spend to much time worrying about what we look like size and shape when we are young.
Kind regards to all Vicki

I’m sort of glad I’m not famous. Someone was obviously following her round checking out what she bought from the shops she visited. So invasive - but wait, I have a husband that does the exact same thing to me lol
