This mum's unlikely "less than $5" stove top cleaning hack will make your life SO much easier!

If you have a stovetop that is anything like ours, then it is probably covered in all sorts of burnt on bits of food, grease, and god-knows-what.

No matter how hard we try to keep it clean, it always seems to get dirty again within a few days.

So, if you are looking for a hassle-free hack to transform your stove top from dirty to squeaky clean, then we've got good news for you!

A mum has found the secret to a clean stove top and oven exhaust in seconds - but her go-to buys are actually designed with a different purpose in mind...

The mum has taken to Facebook to share how she uses laundry products Aldi's DiSan Pro Stain Degreaser ($1.95) and the DiSan Pro Oxy Laundry Soaker ($1.95) as her go-to cleaning agents for getting her stove top and oven exhaust sparkling clean.

She wrote: "A lot of people recommended using DiSan products from Aldi to clean oven exhausts and stovetops."

"So I thought I would give it a go."

And the results speak for themselves!

"It worked so well!" she said, claiming that the products transformed her dirty stove into something looking brand new.

"In the past, I would go through whole rolls of paper towels - but not today!"

So, what exactly is the cleaning process?

The mum used the Stain Degreaser on the stovetop and soaked the vents, sink and drain plug in the Oxy Laundry Soaker.

She then let them soak for as long as it took to clean the rest of the stovetop, and they came out sparkling.

She also cleaned the inside of the exhaust with the Oxy mixed with hot water - using just 6 sheets of paper towel in the process.

Hundreds of Facebook users gushed over the hack, with many expressing their keenness to try the tip themselves.

One woman wrote: "I use this all the time. it also works well on grout, car wheel rims, and oil stains in my carport!"

"And here I've been wasting these products on ... laundry! Thanks for the hack, will be sure to try it soon," another said.

A third chimed in: "I am in love with Aldi's special buys ... they do wonders for my home."

"The results are amazing ... truly sparkling."

And another added: "Well, I know what I'll be using when I run out of kitchen spray next!"

Well, personally, here at the SDC we’re a big fan of the ‘clean as you go’ method, so that when it comes time to do our general weekly cleaning, getting the stovetop looking brand new again shouldn’t take too much time.

Keeping that in mind, we would like to share some stove top maintenance tips with you that should help you keep things in good condition:

1. Wipe up spills immediately

2. Use a stove liner or foil to catch crumbs and spills

3. Clean your stovetop with a mild soap and water solution after each use

4. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners

5. Use a non-stick pan or cooking spray to prevent sticking and simplify cleanup

6. Preheat your oven before cooking to help prevent food from sticking

7. Roast, bake or broil foods instead of frying them

8. Degrease your stove top regularly with a solution of vinegar and water

9. Place a layer of aluminium foil or a stove liner under pots and pans to catch drips and spills

10. Clean your stove top regularly with a damp cloth or sponge to prevent a build-up of grease and grime

So, there you have it, folks! Are you looking forward to trying this trick? Better yet, do you have tips for keeping your stove tops clean that we should know about? Share them with us in the comments below!

I have an electric, glass top hob, I wipe it down after every use and degrease it every so often. I keep it covered with a tea towel when not in use to avoid any accidental scratching and after 5 years it looks the same as the day it came out of the box so I must be doing something right!!:)

Sounds like a great idea, Aldi cleaning products are great! Would love to try this but unfortunately my local Aldi hasn’t had the stain remover for at least 2 weeks….very frustrating!!
