This flyer paid extra for a window seat - here’s what he got instead!

Who doesn’t love taking a holiday every now and then to explore different parts of this great country — or even further abroad, if we're feeling particularly adventurous.
However, as many of you would know, flying can sometimes be quite a stressful experience.
There's not much worse than getting to your destination only to find that your luggage is lost or your flight has been cancelled.
But sometimes it's not major disasters like those that ruin a trip. It can be the tiniest things going wrong that completely throw everything off balance.
Take for example, what happened to one plane traveller who had paid extra money for his seat, only to end up being given an unfortunate position on the plane.
One Reddit user posted his disappointing experience in the website’s ‘Mildly Infuriating’ thread, a forum where people post their slightly annoying gripes with anything under the sun.
He wrote: ‘I paid extra to book a window seat on Scoot.’
Scoot is a low-cost airline based in Singapore with routes mostly throughout the Asia-Pacific region. According to their website, they fly to and from Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, and the Gold Coast.
But in the photo, it was clear he didn’t get what he claimed he paid for!
The picture showed what looked like a cramped space one seat behind an actual window seat.
Instead of looking out onto scenic views during takeoff and landing like he thought he would be doing when paying for a window seat, all he could see were seats and a wall!
Many users sympathised with his situation and responded with amusing takes.
‘Start cutting an exit into the wall. If anyone questions you, let them know you prepaid for your actions,’ a user suggested.
Another chimed in: ‘Maybe it’s like a DIY window, did you forget your chainsaw?’
‘On the bright side, if the engine goes out you’ll be none the wiser! Enjoy your rest,’ a third one joked. Well, that’s one way to put it!
Taking a cue from the user’s experience with Scoot, one even offered an alternative.
‘To anyone booking with any airline, check out SeatGuru. In most cases, you will get way more info on any selected seats, qualities, and features than you need.’ Travellers, take note!
But others were a bit sceptical of the post.
One user challenged the poster’s claim by pointing out he paid extra to book a specific seat, and not necessarily one with a window.
‘Was it marked as “window seat” or something like “window-side”?’ the user asked.
‘Not only was it marked as a window seat, but also the plane map where you pick your seat showed this seat was no different to the other seats with an actual window.’ the poster replied.
The poster also shared that he didn’t contact the airline for a refund, because true to the thread’s name, he only found his disappointing experience mildly infuriating.
Speaking of planes and window seats, you might want to find out why plane windows have tiny holes in them!
You could also take a look at this story of two plane passengers taking a quick snap of their travel that has many saying it was done ‘in bad taste’.
So, what is your reaction to this story? Do you think the poster should have gone for a refund? Or maybe he made an honest mistake while choosing seats?
