Apparently there were renovations being done nearby and the silica dust contaminated the store, the store has been shut and is being deep cleaned, the products were thrown out due to exposure of the dust, it was on the news and all media outlets. If it was silica dust from a nearby construction it probably went into the store and through the air-conditioning as well therefore everything in the store could be contaminated. My comment, for what it's worth - if there was some contruction going on nearby why didn't that company take the absolutely necessary precautions to contain the dust in the first place and why was Coles not informed before hand so they too could ensure their air conditioning intake could be suitably protected and monitored. Someone needs to take responsibility for this and if Coles knew there was work going on close by then they also need to be answerable as to why they didn't take precautions in the first place. It is sad to see so much waste.
