This beloved Aussie treat is back—with a surprising twist!

The Polly Waffle, a beloved Australian chocolate bar, is finally making its triumphant return to the shelves, but with a surprising twist.

The iconic treat, which was last seen over a decade ago, is being reincarnated this year, but not as a bar!

This exciting news is sure to delight chocolate lovers across the country, who have been eagerly awaiting the return of this nostalgic favourite since its announcement.

The resurrection of the Polly Waffle is being spearheaded by South Australian chocolate company Robern Menz, who now holds the rights to produce the bar.

The company previously brought back and created exciting twists on other classic treats like the Violet Crumble.

The new Polly Waffles are set to hit the shelves in April, offering a fresh take on the classic treat.

Instead of the original bar form, the Polly Waffle will now be available as a packet of bite-sized balls, perfect for sharing or indulging on a little at a time.

When news first broke of its revival, several members said they were excited to see it back.

‘Loved loved Polly Waffles,’ member @Shellby said.

‘On my Dad’s payday once a week, I was allowed a treat. Mine was always a Polly Waffle. Miss them so much.’

In another thread, member @janj said the adored the treat, too.

‘Still waiting for them to come back,’ they said.

The Polly Waffle was first created in 1947 and quickly became a staple in Australian households.

Its unique blend of wafer, marshmallow, and chocolate offered a distinctive taste and texture that set it apart from other chocolate bars.

It was discontinued in 2009 due to poor sales, much to the disappointment of its many fans.

The return of the Polly Waffle is not just a win for chocolate lovers but also for the economy.

Robern Menz received a $1 million federal government grant to create the new Polly Waffle production line during the pandemic.

This investment is expected to spur local manufacturing and create jobs, providing a much-needed economic boost in these challenging times.
