This Aussie fisherman witnessed an unbelievable 'natural phenomenon'

Australia's natural wonders have often been considered a privilege enjoyed by a lucky few. However, a recent discovery in the picturesque Wapengo Estuary, New South Wales, challenges this belief.

In this extraordinary encounter, an unsuspecting fisherman stumbled upon a captivating event that can only be described as a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon.

On a peaceful mid-winter day, the fisherman was surrounded by the pristine beauty of the Wapengo Estuary. To his astonishment, the usually clear water revealed something truly extraordinary.

Before him stretched an immense school of Australian salmon, so vast that its presence could be seen from kilometres away.

'It's always a wonderful sightseeing these fish in such numbers,' the fisherman, Adam Dowton, said to a news source of the truly mesmerising sight that he was able to capture with his aerial drone.

'It’s the biggest school of salmon on record,' Fishing Australia TV also confirmed, with many people commenting on the video in awe.

‘Incredible. I wouldn't have believed it,’ remarked one person. ‘Amazing! Nature at its best!’ agreed another in awe of the spectacle.

‘Good to see so much marine life; I hope it is preserved and remains that way!’ expressed a third person.

The aerial footage provided a captivating view of the Australian salmon school, bustling with various marine creatures like dolphins, sharks, and seals.

What could have caused such a big gathering of salmon?

One intriguing fact about these massive schools of salmon is that they often consist of thousands, or even tens of thousands, of individual fish swimming together in synchronised patterns. Source: Adam Dowton

According to Professor Culum Brown from Macquarie University's School of Natural Sciences, Australian salmon undertake a northward migration during winter, and the Wapengo Estuary has proven to be a crucial rest stop along their journey.

In an interview, the professor unveiled some fascinating facts about these fish. Typically, adult Australian salmon measure between 35 to 45 centimetres in length, although they can reach an impressive 75 centimetres!

Furthermore, Professor Brown emphasised that this particular fish species serves as a vital source of sustenance not only for sharks, dolphins, seals, and seabirds but also for humans.

This remarkable school of salmon is a vivid testament to the fact that Australia remains a terrestrial paradise. Its allure lies not only in its breathtaking tropical beaches and lush rainforests but also in its extraordinary wildlife.

I saw a very strange all-natural occurrence many times. Here's four of them. The first was a barrel roll of clouds moving in a rolling line across a clear sky up in the Gulf of Carpentaria, it was a weird thing to see.
Another time was running into the water at a Darwin beach cove, and THOUSANDS of fish (MUD SKIPPIES) rushed out of the water and lined up in the branches of bushes.

I know sound weird. It was hilarious cupping hands around a branch and catching fish.

Another time the ocean off South Molle in the Whitsundays went RED it went for mile or more. later we found out it was the great Barrier reefs annual coral spawning.

The next happened while I was in the water and a mate ran along the main jetty of south mole and told me to get out of the water as I had to see this.

We looked at them so closely, that you could see them writhing and there were quite literally HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of sea snakes formed a rolling twisting structure about a hundred yds long and about arms width thick.

Mother nature is truly amazing.
