This ALDI product recreates McDonald's burger at home: 'They taste exactly the same'

Fast food has a certain allure that can be hard to replicate at home, but what if you could bring the taste of your favourite McDonald's meals into your own kitchen?

That's exactly what savvy ALDI shoppers are doing, and the results are causing quite a stir among fast-food aficionados and bargain hunters alike.

One ALDI customer's discovery has sent waves through social media, as they've found a cheese that mirrors the iconic taste of McDonald's cheese slices.

The Emporium Selection Easy to Melt Burger Slices, available as part of ALDI's Limited Time products range, have been hailed as a game-changer for homemade burger enthusiasts.

‘These burger slices are awesome! They taste exactly like Macca’s cheese. It was $4 for the packet. Made BLTC muffins for lunch and burgers for dinner—it worked so well!’ she said.

The post quickly garnered attention, with many social media users eager to find out if this 'almost identical' cheese was available in their local ALDI stores.

The excitement was palpable, with comments ranging from 'Off to ALDI, I go' to 'Thanks so much for sharing, I’ve been looking for something like this!'

But the ALDI shopper didn't stop at just praising the cheese.

They also shared a cost-effective recipe for Macca’s-inspired bacon and egg McMuffin using all ALDI ingredients.

The cost comparison was striking: a homemade McMuffin for $2.42 versus the McDonald’s price of $6.65.

The taste? It's reported to be just like the real deal.

'My sister even commented when she Facetimed that she thought I brought it from Macca’s,' the shopper exclaimed, proving that a fast-food breakfast could be both delicious and economical when made at home.

Other ALDI customers chimed in with their own 'fakeaway' experiences, sharing tips and expressing a desire for the perfect homemade hashbrown to complete their McDonald's experience.

‘Yum! What cheese is this? All I need is to make exact Macca’s hashbrowns at home, and I’m totally set,’ one person said.

"I love the cost breakdown! I want that cheese!’ said another.

A third commented, ‘Yum! I usually use the smokey cheese from Woolies, but I’ll have to try this one.’

‘I made these for my kids after your recommendation, it went down a treat,’ another shared.

‘They melt really well, too. I wish they had them permanently in stock,’ a customer said.

ALDI's Limited Time Only range, which includes these coveted cheese slices, features over 200 new and returning products across food, beverage, and beauty products.

It was not only this ALDI shopper who shared her homemade recipes.

In a previous story, nutrition coach Bec Hardgrave took to social media her ‘fake-away’ Macca’s, which was not only easy to make but also contained 380 calories per serving.
