Sharing before and after photos on Facebook, the renovation-savvy mum described her laundry project as 'wonderful' despite the makeover being a challenge at times.

'Kmart $3.75 vinyl wrap! This took two rolls—the bench top is 2350mm long and 600mm wide,' she revealed in a post, adding that the completed project was well worth the effort.

'Was a terrible job to do, but it’s come up so well. Made the laundry look more modern instantly.'

To complete the stylish, revamped look, the mum added even more budget-friendly Kmart items, such as a Kmart light shade, Kmart soap dispenser, hand cream and tray.

She excitedly informed other Kmart fans that these elements were 'all still in stock now if anyone is interested. I'm doing my powder room next!!'

Her post received an avalanche of compliments and sparked inspiration among fellow home décor enthusiasts, who were eager to give their own spaces a bit of a facelift, too.

'Wow, it does brighten up your laundry, great job.' one person praised, while another added: 'Wonderful job. Well done. Looks amazing.'

'This makes me want to do laundry. It looks so good!' said a third commenter.

A fellow homebuyer who faced similar outdated benchtop woes said, 'I’ve just bought a house with the same colour benchtop and cupboard doors. I’m going to look into wrapping the benchtop; the green has to go!'

I also did my laundry and all my kitchen bench tops with a vinyl wrap, albeit it was a bit more expensive.
Have used the Kmart one for different projects, but did find it a bit thin and damaged easily.
If anyone is interested you can buy the much thicker one from a company called Vinyl Home NZ. Another advantage being it comes in different widths and much longer lengths, hence no joins, also much easier to work with as I said though more expensive. IMO worth it.IMG_20220419_153340.jpgIMG_20220812_120618~2.jpg
