Things just got sweeter: Whittaker's iconic chocolate block finally launches in Australia!

Chocolate lovers, rejoice! Indulge your sweet tooth with the 'world's best' chocolate block, which many greet with the term 'perfection.'

After over a year of waiting, Whittaker’s coveted Hazella chocolate block has finally launched in Australia. This decadent treat from New Zealand’s top chocolate brand has already gained a cult following, and Aussies are thrilled that this 'Nutella-inspired' bar is now available on our shores.

Whittaker’s is known for its high-quality ingredients, rich creamy flavours, and commitment to fair trade. Kiwis have enjoyed the chocolate maker's products for decades, while Australians have only had access to a limited range in recent years. But the launch of Hazella marks a delicious milestone.

The Hazella block consists of 33 per cent cocoa milk chocolate enveloping a luscious hazelnut gianduja centre.

When Hazella first launched in New Zealand, stocks in supermarkets sold out fast. Whittaker’s even had to halt production of other chocolate blocks just to meet demand. With the growing demand in New Zealand, chocolate lovers in Australia could only look on with envy.

The brand confirmed that BIG W now already has a ‘secret stash’ of this much-loved chocolate bar. The 250g block will retail for $6.40.

Soraya Cottin, Chief Marketing Officer at Whittaker’s, said, ‘With a hazelnut gianduja centre, encased in Whittaker’s 5 Roll Refined Creamy Milk chocolate, we had a good feeling that Australian chocolate lovers would enjoy the Hazella bar, and we’re excited to bring it here.’

‘At this stage, only BIG W have a Hazella secret stash. But our fans say it’s “perfection wrapped in perfection”, so well worth a visit to your nearest store,’ she added.

Chocolate lovers couldn’t stop raving about Hazella on social media ever since it became widely available in the country.

One food blogger said: ‘Run, don’t walk to BIG W guys, Hazella by Whittaker’s is finally in Australia. It’s bomb.’

‘My favourite [Whittaker’s] Hazella is now BIG W,’ said another online user.

‘It’s really soft and creamy, tastes exactly like Nutella,’ said one mum, who reviewed the Hazella with her son.

Other social media users commented on the videos with their reviews of the chocolate bar.

‘Ohhh, it is so good,’ one commented.

Another user wrote, ‘Hands down the best chocolate bar in the world.’

‘That took a year! My god,’ a third said.

Whittaker’s fan have done extreme measures just to get their hands on the bar, asking family and friends to bring one whenever they visit New Zealand for the holidays or work trips.

However, some food reviewers criticised that the Hazella was ‘overhyped.’

According to Russ Eats, ‘It’s a brilliant block, but I expected it to blow my mind.’ He gave the chocolate bar a rating of 8.5.

For those who want to indulge in chocolates in a healthier way, a cake artist shared her recipe in making for a delicious and healthy snack—and it only takes three ingredients! Check out the recipe here.

I bought Whittaker's dark almond chocolate on special last week. Wasn't as nice as Aldi's Moser Roth which is cheaper too.

As soon as I see a headline that anything is "taking the world by storm" or " taking the internet by storm" I go into automatic ignore mode. 99% of the time it is click bait to some scammy rubbish product.

I’ll pass thank you. I hate Nutella and I only eat chocolate very occasionally but I do remember Whittakers had a bar out a couple of years back which had a jelly centre - now that was to die for

Whittakers is the best - far nicer than modern Cadbury's and reminds me of the old Nestle milk chocolate bars. Happy to pay extra for decent chocolate and they haven't shrunk yet either!

BigW has had Whittakers choc blocks for years, i've tried them and they are NOT that great - I've tasted much better! As for this Hazella one - i won't be tryin' it - I HATE nutty stuff! I can't stand nutella which is choc hazelnut so this screams of choc hazelnut which will only make me gag and spew so NO THANKS!

Putting nuts in with choc is a waste of chocolate!

Plus there is no better choc in the world than Cadbury's dairy milk (NOT that marvelous creations junk which doesn't ever taste right though). I should know i am a chocoholic. Having tried every choc or lolly i could since a kid, i know my stuff! Including switching from the dairy milk in the choc aisle to the milk baking choc from the cooking aisle when Cadbury screwed the recipe before putting it back and how the knock off mars bar at Aldi tasted like a Mars bar always used to (unlike what they now taste like for years).

So NOPE won't be touching this hazella stuff, i know already Whittakers is a cheap boring choc so don't need to hurl over tryin' this nutty idea. Don't care if it means i actually have not tried it, i can imagine it since i know what half of it will taste like.
