Thieves get trapped in a heist gone wrong! What happened?

Aussie business owners are not just focused on profit—they also think about their customers and their staff's welfare as well.

In a scene lifted straight from a Hollywood movie, a group of would-be thieves found themselves in a sticky situation.

The drama unfolded in Melbourne's south-eastern suburb of Rowville, where a local family-owned milk bar became the stage for a remarkable act of bravery and quick thinking.

It was just after 6:30 pm when four masked individuals burst into the Dandelion Drive milk bar.

These thieves then demanded the female staff member behind the counter to open the till.

Recovered CCTV footage showed the culprits allegedly making off with more than $200.

However, their plan was about to unravel spectacularly.

The milk bar owner's mum, who was present at the scene, noticed the commotion and sprang into action.

With nerves of steel and presence of mind, she discreetly locked the front door of the shop and trapped the robbers inside the store.

A witness later on recounted the tense moments.

'She was very brave to stand there, and when they came back to try and get through the door, she's still standing there, and she could be dead,' the witness shared.

The CCTV footage captured the ensuing chaos as the thieves realised that their escape route was sealed.

They then desperately tried to smash the doors to get out of the store.

Their efforts were futile, and they ended up demanding the key from the staff member.

Ultimately, the thieves fled the scene through a side door and left behind a shaken but unharmed staff.

However, the story has since then captured people's attention due to its interesting turn.

The police have since launched an investigation into the incident.

Authorities are trying to determine if the said robbery had any connection to other recent robberies, including one at an Endeavour Hills milk bar.

As the group remains at large, authorities urged anyone with information to come forward.

This harrowing experience should serve as a reminder of the unexpected dangers that small business owners and workers face.

It also highlighted the courage and resilience of individuals like the milk bar owner's mother, whose actions prevented a bad situation from potentially becoming worse.
