My Woolies used to have an entry point at both ends of the store.
After their recent update, you can now only enter from the far end, having to walk past all the checkouts to get in. Very frustrating for people with mobility difficulties.....when every step adds to your pain for the day.

All these prompts are lost on me as all my shopping is done online. I choose to have items listed by cheapest by unit price first so rarely go past the first page of listed items. I find this is the most economical way to do my shopping and I never get caught up with impulse buys.:)

Another good reason to do shopping on-line & then either have this delivered or pick the parcels up yourself, perhaps?

This is the best post I've seen. I knew almost all these tactics but I never thought of the long isles and narrow checkout areas. Now this young woman and her videos are actually doing some good to wake people up.

Some of you say to just shop online. That would initiate even more unnecessary shopping for many people. Just a click and poof you have it. That's too easy for many.

One great way to limit your purchases is you walk to the store and can only buy what you're prepared to carry home. Exercise, fresh air and not falling for the store hype. (No stealing the shopping carts.)
