With the Maccas Ap deals have to be read properly the meals in this article were avaiable were only for a certain time they have now gone back to there orginal price I purchased Mcfeasts meals when these deals were avaialable they are now back to full price yes there has been price increases again some deals that have a 20% or 10% discount on the app are only avaiable via ordering it on your mobile which is written in very small print you may not notice until you click on the item to give the code to purchase the deal I have been reading any deals more closely there will always be a constant disput regarding fresh food verus fast food , everyone has the right to choose their preferance some people alternate with fast,and fresh food

Every fast-food will charge as much as possible and recently I bought a chicken wrap at a local take away Cafe and requested they add bacon that isn't usually on it. Looking at the receipt after I'd eaten the wrap I noticed they charged me $8 for the slice of bacon added to the $12 wrap. Needless to say won't be going back there again.

I wonder how many hash browns I could get out of a $3 for 5 kg of bag of washed potatoes from the local market? Probably well over a hundred.

Coles sells hash browns for $4.50 for a 75g bag or $1 each. Perhaps McDonalds need to get them from there!

The person shared their outrage on social media, saying: 'What in the inflation h***?! $3.80 for ONE hash brown?'

The customer also shared a photo of the receipt that shows they paid a whopping $6.30 for a single cheeseburger.

‘Remember when cheeseburgers were two dollarydoos?’ One user commented.

‘Hamburgers were a dollar!’ Another added.

‘That’s not worth it,’ university students Ashley and Rachel said. ‘For a potato that’s mashed up, that’s too much.’

The duo also noticed an increase in McDonald’s prices in Sydney and were shocked when they found out the price of a standard six-pack of chicken nuggets at the Ultimo store.

‘It’s crazy that six chicken nuggets were $8, you’re paying over a dollar per nugget,’ said Rachel.

Ashley added: ‘Today we saw that 20 chicken nuggets were $14.45, so we decided to split it because it will be cheaper.’

Tourists have also been taken aback by the cost of fast food here in Australia.

'In Canada, coffee is max $2 CAD ($2.28 AUD), and this was around $4.38 CAD ($5 AUD) for a black coffee,' said Canadian tourist Jeff.

‘I’m trying to stay on a budget, and I honestly thought Mcdonald’s would be cheap,’ Jeff said, adding he probably won’t be visiting McDonald’s again during his brief stay in Sydney.

An international student from Hong Kong named Jessica also found Australia’s prices ‘much more expensive’ than those back home.

‘In Hong Kong, a meal will cost around $12 or $13 AUD, but here it is almost $20 AUD,’ she said.

‘I’m trying so hard not to come as much. But I’m a student, and I can’t prevent it.’

A quick price comparison from March 2019 and June 2023 shows that prices have skyrocketed.

A Big Mac burger ordered at the restaurant or via the MyMaccas app cost only $5.75 in March 2019 to $7.35 in June 2023.

While Cheeseburgers had seen a 58 per cent increase from $3.15 in 2019 to $4.30 in June 2023.

Prices are also observed to vary from store to store–a Big Mac at the Ultimo Sydney store will set you back $7.65, while a cheeseburger will cost $4.60.

A McDonald’s Australia spokesperson responded to concerns about soaring prices, saying it can be attributed to production costs, such as the price of buying ingredients and maintaining restaurants.

‘Like all businesses, we are operating in a higher-cost environment, which does impact the cost of running great restaurants in communities across Australia,’ the spokesperson said.
