I have ten direct debits a month to various charities, so I'm happy to read about the Charity fund raiser. I support Save The Children, Kids Cancer, U.N.H.C.R, Caritas, CBM, World Wildlife, Amnesty International, the Fred Hollows Foundation, Seeing Eye dogs, and a couple more. I get updates, Christmas cards, and news about the work each charity does. I was a nursing sister, English trained, for forty-five years, so my life has been one of giving, which in turn, gives me great pleasure. I hope all members join in!! Merry Christmas.

Why don't the shops have xmas shirts that are funny or naughty anymore? Is the country so wrapped in PC crap and stick in butt high morals that it's forgot it's sense of humour?

Every year becomes harder to find a funny/naughty/rude xmas shirt as everywhere is flooded with 'Tame/Lame" xmas shirts designed not to stir the pot or slightly offend or even amuse.
This years clear winner was the simple hand with the middle finger 'flipping the bird' and said finger has a mini santa hat on it. says a lot about the state of the world.

My first foray from the tame/lame shirts was when i paid a printing/sign writing place to copy my dad's 'Merry Frigging xmas' shirt he'd had for a few years. Next came santa's sleigh landing on the old EC in the yard of a house and was captioned 'I told you the Schmidt house' followed by the pooping reindeer 'Do You Hear What I hear?' and so on. A few years back i got a shirt with 2 deer going for 'it' that said 'Xmas is just too F#cking Deer'.

The one that gets the most reactions still is the copy of dads shirt. Well i choose NOT to be boring. Mum always said don't follow the sheep so i don't and if you don't like what you see on a shirt don't look at it.

(My vote for charity is Aust. Zoo Wildlife Warriors)

Fantastic initiatve and so timely… for the gift of giving and also timely as my husband is about to start cancer treatment for Melanoma. We want to keep positive, so as part of this, a donation to Cancer research would be great. Love to all at this time of the year, we can make miracles as a big group!!🎄🎇

Unfortunately, not only have Woolworths taken a favourite chocolate off the shelf but they also no longer stock ‘Shape’ milk! This milk is often recommended by dietitians for Seniors. Anyway, that aside, I would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and the best for 2024. A great charity Is Dementia Foundation

I would like to wish everyone on this list a very Happy Christmas. Christmas day begins with Mass or Church service, ater that it is friends. In Tuross Head the Fire Brigade comes around delivering presents to all the children, who wait on the street when they hear the fire bell ringing. Back in Christmas 1973, St Vincents came to me and brought me a hamper and a tricicle for me son of 2. My husband had died the year before. That was a joyful Christmas for us. My charity will always be Vinnies. Leslie Willmouth.

What a wonderful idea and a great fundraiser. My choice would be the QLD Children’s Hospital.
Wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy Safe New Year xxx
