Be honest, have you ever shamelessly bagged a couple of items from a hotel room you stayed in? Surely a towel or one of the fancy robes couldn’t hurt, right? It’s totally fine– okay maybe not exactly… but I think almost all of us have secretly done this before at least once or twice.
Well, one hotel launched a unique twist for travellers, encouraging them to ‘steal’ luxury items worth over $2,000 that come with their stay.

Starting April 5th, The Prince Hotel St Kilda opened up a room called ‘Steal The Suite’, where guests can stay and indulge in robes, linen sets, toiletries, decors, food, and beverages – and then bag it all and take it home.
Steal The Suite collaborated with some of the country’s most extravagant brands to provide the finest experience for guests looking to get a taste of the high life even if it’s just for a night.
“We have seen some guests go to extraordinary lengths to smuggle items out of their hotel room, so we decided to expose this guilty pleasure,' Hotel Manager, Ben Chan said.
“Steal The Suite lets guests steal items that are truly worth it,” Mr Chan added.
The catch is that it costs $999 per night. However, the suite boasts enticing inclusions such as: Cultiver robes, totes and linens valued at over $1000, a minibar filled with delicious charcuterie from Little Prince Wine, and Hommey cushions and towels that cost over $350.

The room also offers regular shampoo sizes, a chocolate bar, and fancy bath products to bring their guests’ stay to a whole new level.
And if all of that doesn’t sound luxurious enough, the hotel is located in a spectacular spot with a breathtaking view of the ocean. It’s also in close proximity to St Kilda pier, giving guests easier access to travel around the city.
Upon checking out of the one-of-a-kind room, the hotel staff will ignore the ‘stolen’ items from the room and make certain that you haven’t left any ‘steal-able’ items behind.
The Steal The Suite offer is only available from April 5 until May 31 for $999 a night.
If you’ve always dreamt of pampering yourself to the fullest extent, this is your sign to do it. Room bookings can be made online via their website at https://theprince.com.au, though we have to confess we don’t have a cool thousand dollars lying around. Still, one can dream…
Well… that definitely evoked our inner shoplifter. (We’re kidding - we think!) What are your thoughts on this accommodation’s odd concept? Share it with us in the comments!
