The Maraques of Gibraltar
These Maraque Monkeys up on the Rock of Gibraltar originally came from the North Africa region. They are deliberately kept to manageable numbers, around 300 to 350.
They continually check each other out, looking for pests in their coats. They are very playful, but we were warned not to interact too much with them.
Spain is in the background here and Morocco is to the left of this photo.
