The hidden Princess Diana tribute you might’ve missed from Meghan Markle’s dazzling NYC red carpet look
Meghan Markle's head-turning look on the Intrepid Museum's Salute to Freedom Gala 2021 red carpet left us all with our jaws dropped but did you know that the Duchess was also paying tribute to her late mother-in-law?

Meghan, who walked on the New York City red carpet with her husband, Prince Harry,
donned a scarlet Carolina Herrera gown which features a plunging neckline, a front split, and a dramatic sweeping train.
The Duchess also went for a simple up-do, making sure that all eyes were on her ensemble which she completed with a pair of diamond earrings and burgundy satin pumps by Giuseppe Zanotti.
Although her accessories and up-do were simple to allow the scarlet gown to shine, did you know that a small detail from her look is a homage to the late Princess Diana?
Meghan was also donning a piece of jewellery with significant sentimental value to the late Princess — the Cartier diamond tennis bracelet was worn by Princess Diana on a number of occasions, including the American Red Cross gala dinner in Washington DC in 1997 where Lady Di also sported a gorgeous red dress by one of her go-to designers, Jacques Azagury.
It's not the first time the estranged royal has paid tribute to Lady Diana by wearing the Cartier diamond tennis bracelet. Meghan also wore the piece on several occasions including the couple's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March and the Sussexes' royal tour of Fiji and Tonga in 2018.

The Duke and Duchess were in attendance at the Intrepid Museum's Salute to Freedom Gala 2021, a ceremony to honour and recognise men and women who serve in defence of USA freedom.
Prince Harry presented five awards to veterans "living with invisible wounds of war".
He also presented American rocker Jon Bon Jovi with the Intrepid Lifetime Achievement Award for his work with the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.
