Let's be honest, eating healthy is turning into a tough task nowadays as more and more food items available in the supermarket are packed with preservatives.

The popularity of "ready meals" has taken Aussies by storm, with a study published in 2021 revealing that in the period between 2014 and 2020, an annual increase of 13% in the number of "ready meals" in the market was observed, suggesting that consumers are purchasing more of these food items as time goes by.

Chicken nuggets are arguably one of the most popular ready-made food items available across Australia.

These chicken meat parcels are packed with flavour in every bite, making them irresistible to your taste buds.

In the video, the foodie places one skinless chicken breast, a piece of steamed potato cut in half, and a quarter piece of red onion into a food processor.

Next, the TikTok user adds a pinch of salt, paprika, pepper, and one teaspoon of starch into the mixture.

According to @foodyclub, you can adjust the amount of spices according to your preference.

The foodie then blends all the ingredients together until they are well combined.

After blending, @foodyclub scoops some of the mixture and shapes them into "nuggets" similar to that of the meat products available in the market.

Finally, the TikTok user then fries them in a pan until they're golden brown before serving them with tomato sauce and mayonnaise.

The video has since garnered more than 5 million views, over 214,000 likes, and hundreds of comments from TikTok users who are raving over the simple recipe.

One mum wrote: "Just made these and my boys loved them."

"Brilliant!" another quipped wrote.

A third quipped: "Looks delicious! Going to try it! Thanks for sharing."

"Meal prep hallelujah!” another added.

And another suggested: "Do it with fish!" (which we think is a brilliant idea, and another healthy alternative).

Meanwhile, others were sceptical of the recipe as they claimed that the chicken meat was not cooked.

However, many were quick to defend the recipe, saying that the people who called out that the chicken meat was not cooked may have missed the part where the foodie fried them in the pan.

One man wrote: "Everyone in here yelling “COOK YOUR CHICKEN” ignoring the fact they cooked the chicken."

"People do not understand that the chicken is cooked," another added.

A third quipped: "I think you missed the part of the video with the frying pan."

"Maybe put them in an air fryer for the right amount of time and double-check internal temp first," suggested one person. Which is another great alternative way of cooking these healthy chicken nuggets, seeing you would remove the oily-frying part of the recipe.

Regardless, we think we'll be trying this recipe ourselves soon...

Sounds yummy but I love my Nuggets.
Chicken thigh or breast dipped in egg the rolled in flour. I add salt and pepper to the flour or I add curry powder or chilli (spice of your choice) to the flour. I fry mine in Rice Bran Oil. 😊

I used to do this with leftovers afterr a roast chicken dinner. Cooked chicken, roast potatoes, roast and steamed veg, a bit of gravy and stuffing to bind. Through processor, form into patties, crumb and cook in oven or frying pan. Soooo yummy 😋😋😋💖
