The first houses were built 400,000 years ago
A long, long time ago — about 400,000 years back — early humans, likely Homo heidelbergensis, built the first known shelters. They were simple homes, made by hand, right by the beach in what is now France. No tools like we have today. Just brains, hands, and teamwork.
