Many years ago I met friends of my now wife they had a farm and they had trouble with rabbits now I had shot rifles before but the man gave me a rifle to shoot the rabbits I got one in my sights but just couldn't shoot it the only thing I had shot before were targets It was a great discussion at the dinner table but at least my girlfriend now wife was happy that I couldn't shoot it

Back in the sixties if you went rabbit shooting, all you were doing was putting them out of their misery as most of them were riddled with Myxomatosis.
 
Had rabbit when l stayed with my Aunt & Uncle on their farm. Still remember how quickly my aunt took the rabbit from the trap & with the blink of an eye had stripped the fur from the body.

On another occassion l went out with my uncle & a Government Agent to spread poison to cull rabbits.
( the most painful part about visits there was wearing thongs & regularly standing on Double Gees, ouch! ).
