Since the 1940s, bouclé fabric or furniture has become a staple in many fashion couture houses, and for that reason, you might be thinking that this type of home furnishing always costs upwards of $1,000.
However, don’t be deceived by the fancy French word; bouclé means the furniture is made from curled or ringed fabric, such as looped yarn or wool. The material is warm and cosy yet a bit rough and luxurious – it can help add texture and character to a space and give it some luxe aesthetic.
And thankfully, since it’s so trendy right now, more budget-friendly options are popping up – it has even made its way to ALDI.
ALDI’s Special Buys for the week include a range of bouclé furniture, including a swivel chair, an ottoman, a queen-sized bedhead, and dog beds made from the same material.
ALDI’s Bouclé Fabric Round Swivel Chair, which you can get for $199, is a bargain buy. Bouclé swivel chairs are typically priced anywhere between $500 to $800. ALDI’s version of the chair features a gorgeous, textured, detailed fabric, curved armrests, swivels 360°, and comes ready to use, no assembly required.
Along with the swivel chair, ALDI is also offering a Bouclé Fabric Storage Ottoman, priced at $99.99. This is another budget-friendly furniture dupe, as other ottomans with the same design range from $200 to $1,000. According to the product description, the ottoman features stylish black metal legs and an upholstered boucle fabric. It also has a lift-up lid on safety hinges that reveals ample internal storage space.
Lastly, ALDI offers a Bouclé Fabric Queen Size Bedhead in their Special Buys catalogue. These types of bedheads are also known to be quite expensive, but thanks to the ALDI, you can get your own stunning bedroom piece for $99.99.
But that’s not all! ALDI is also dropping a range of pet furniture made from bouclé fabric, such as pet sofas in different sizes and colours and a memory foam pet bed.
The large designer-style pet sofa comes in two colours: grey or green, and measures 98cm(L) x 68cm(W) x 28cm(H) and is priced at $169. The smaller size’s measurements are 67cm(L) x 41cm(W) x 25cm(H), which you can get for $109. Both have soft, velvet-covered and high-density foam cushions and have 100 per cent certified bent plywood frames with oak-look veneer.
Meanwhile, the Bouclé Memory Foam Pet Bed costs $59.99 and features a soft teddy bouclé fabric cover.
According to the product description, it has supportive side bumpers, two removable and washable covers, and a memory foam base that ‘may help relieve pressure on dog joints for improved comfort’.
This offer comes after reports that hardware store Bunnings is tapping into the pet industry market by expanding its product offers to include pet products. Meanwhile, it was reported that Woolworths spent $586 million last year to gain a controlling share in the parent company of the PETstock chain, Petspiration. PETstock amasses over $979 million in annual sales.
