Thanks for accepting me into your group.

Hi
My name is Richard from Hobart. I’m originally from Leeds UK and am an avid Leeds United supporter.
Hello Richard @MOT1919! Wow! It's been a long time since I came across someone from Tassie here. Thank you so much for joining! I'm sure we also have members into footy over here!

I'm just curious: may I ask why you chose to settle in Hobart?

My wife is from Hobart and so it was an easy decision. I really enjoy the relaxed lifestyle here after coming from Leeds and so much reminds me of Yorkshire.
Was your wife beside you when you typed 'My wife is from Hobart and so it was an easy decision'? Blink twice if you need help... Kidding :ROFLMAO:

The beautiful place must be such a huge bonus then! I've heard wonderful things about Tassie and I hope to visit there one day.

How long have you been there?

I came out here in 1986 and have been In Tassie ever since, the best move I ever made looking at what’s happening in the UK at the moment, it doesn’t sound good.

Almost four decades, then! I bet you have a ton of stories to tell... Do you miss Leeds?

That is such a relatable sentiment too. In general, I notice I sometimes avoid looking at the news because chances are something somewhere out in the world is going wrong (but eventually, I relent because I also don't want to be in the dark, haha).

I don't miss a lot, however I do miss going to the football, (I used to go to all matches home and away), but its a lot easier now that I can watch it live.
My family over there keep me updated on what's happening.

Wow! Considering they're family, I might not have been so strong and returned when homesickness was especially unbearable! You seem to carry a piece of Leeds with you wherever you are, and I am amazed by that unwavering connection.

I really enjoy living here in Tasmania as it’s a fairly easy going lifestyle and as I said earlier so much here reminds me of Yorkshire. It may be different if I lived in Sydney or Melbourne as I don’t like busy cities anymore, then I may be tempted to return.

Tassie should hire you as a spokesman! 'Easy going' sounds wonderful, all things considered! What's the best memory you have of Tassie so far?
