Who remembers telegrams? Before phones were common, telegrams were the quickest way to send news. You’d fill out a form at the post office and pay, and a telegram boy on his bike would deliver it. Do you still have old telegrams? We’d love to see them here.

In my baby book is a telegram from my Godfather on my 8th birthday on 18th March 1950. It's still in top condition. I was given the book on the day I was born.

Me too, as a part time job at Christmas time when the telegram traffic was a lot higher than normal. Hard work peddling a bike around the streets

I still have the telegram I received for my first teaching appointment with the NSW Department of Education in 1982. I retired as a principal in 2021 after a long, enjoyable and rewarding career (which I miss). It went past too quickly!
