Teen's wild ride: How a display car ended up crashing inside a shopping mall!

In a scene that could have been lifted straight from an action movie, authorities are investigating a startling incident that unfolded within the bustling confines of a prominent shopping centre.

Reports suggest that a display car, meant to be a stationary display, suddenly turned into an unexpected projectile, causing chaos and injuries and prompting swift intervention from law enforcement officials.

The Westfield Liverpool shopping complex in western Sydney became the unlikely setting for a dramatic incident this past Saturday, March 16.

Around 12:30 pm, emergency services rushed to the scene where an electric car, which was on display, had crashed into the Myer store's glass facade.

According to NSW Police, a teenage boy was in the driver's seat of the electric vehicle when it lurched forward, shattering the glass panel before it.

The car didn't stop there; it then reversed, striking two unsuspecting individuals.

The aftermath of the incident was a distressing sight, with a red electric vehicle sitting amidst the rubble of the female cosmetics section, its front end visibly damaged.

According to the police, two men bore the brunt of the vehicle's erratic journey.

A man in his 50s sustained minor head injuries, while another man, in his 30s, suffered chest injuries. Both were promptly attended to by paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition.

Witnesses at the scene reportedly recounted hearing a series of loud 'bangs'.

The incident prompted a swift response from the authorities, with police establishing a crime scene, and launching an investigation into the bizarre crash.

At the heart of the matter was a 14-year-old boy, who had been in the driver's seat at the time of the crash.

Police spoke with the teenager at the scene, and while he was later allowed to leave with a family member, the police have made it clear that their inquiries are 'continuing'.

Shopping centres are no stranger to crimes and unusual incidents such as this.

Recently, an elderly supermarket employee was hospitalised after an incident in a shopping centre in Sydney.

In another incident, a retired teacher met her untimely end in the carpark of a shopping centre in Queensland.

It's a COMMERCIAL retailer (originally a Jewish business man). WTF does any religion have to do with this? For Fu@# sake, what has this country come to. Racism in this country it up there with the worst of them.

Apart from the fact that there is no such thing as god. Why, what difference would it make? Let's start with what did you did for the day?
How exactly do you know that. I hung my countries flag up and celebrated with family. I also respect other people's rights to support their beliefs. I was asking if MYER had done the same for Australia day as it did for ramadam.I don't need your bad language to understand your point.

It's a 1 day divisive event, that when I was a teenager was recognised as Sydney's birthday bash and that was all. Firework on the harbor and very little recognition in any other state. Ramadam is a 1 month long festival, why would you not expect a business that is in the retail sector to capitalise on a religious event? Is that the same thinking about the commercial exploiting of christmas or to a far lesser degree easter? Just where exactly on this commentary was there 'bad language'?

Just because you use abbreviations, doesn't remove the insinuation as you are aware.
I hear what you're saying about it being month long, but still doesn't answer the question. Was Australia day acknowledged in that store? We live in Australia Alan, Australia should always be first. Other cultures, of course, can celebrate. Just don't forget where we live.

What is all this back-and-forth crap to do with the Myer car accident? Or so-called accident. A great waste of space and time.

I am thinking the 14 year old was sitting in the car playing brmmmm brmmsss.
My question to the people responsible for putting the car on display. Why were the doors unlocked? And mummy or daddy, why was the kid not supervised?
If this was a case of the kid playing silly buggers, then by all means, he should be made to pay for the misdeed. It was a miracle nobody was killed. OMG, I am having visions of a mum and kiddies going shopping never to go home ... it could have been so much worse.

The car should be locked, with a fence around it and someone present at all times the centre is be open and the keys not be in the car..... the responsibility lies with the dealership.....
