You know for some this is going to be hard to do especially if they are dependent on others and feel they are a bother.
l found when l went outside in the fresh air it helped or perhaps been taken for a drive .Playing cards and doing quiz's could also help. Try not to think ''why bother my life is nearly gone anyway''and think there are lots of people who wish they had more time. Sorry that doesn't really help does it?
Listen to some happy music and try and dance around.lf you are on a package you can get someone in to play games and take you out.
Just getting over Covid myself but feeling a bit better the cough still with me. Who cares?????

I’m down in the dumps cos my doc confirmed I’ve got shingles again after having it six months ago, also fell over twisted my leg of course it’s the new hip isn’t it and tore a ligament behind my new hip. 😢 then found a card on my doorstep saying “Jesus loves you” really 😳

Thanks my little sisters in Bali for a week and my big sisters on a vintage car rally around victoria for two weeks and I’ve got four brothers who live so far away so I’m a bit lost at the moment. Lucky I’ve got good neighbours to keep an eye on me and my cat I’d be lost without him and being on here helps also. But she’ll be right at least I’m still standing and have my funny side that’s the main thing right.😊

I hope you have some sort of support service that comes to help. What about children. Has the hospital sent you out a social worker to help with any alterations you may need. Wish I lived close I would come myself.
Take care 💐 :):):)

Thankyou that is so sweet I don’t have children and I’m lucky my unit used to be owned by an elderly lady so I’ve got bars in the shower and loo it’s great. I’ve got a wheelie walker which helps also, I don’t think I’ll be cooking for awhile bummer, but i’ve got a freezer full of meals I did before my fall and once my girls come home I’ll be right.thankyou.💕

Dear friend, I don't have the issues you have at the moment, but since I have retired, and my husband has passed away (I retired to be with him) I feel useless a lot of the time, there are things I try to do to help my neighbors(elderly) because I love doing it. All of us can get down sometimes but we have to try and keep our chin up and always remember, never give up. 🌻

Not to put the post down in the dumps but i'm not happy because my Oncologist has diagnosed me with stage 4 bowel cancer, but I don't get how.
Nearly 2 months ago I had a complete Colonoscopy, through the Stoma and the backside, which came back cancer free after having a stage 2 bowel cancer tumor removed on the 30th of April.
So how does it go from being cancer free two months ago to stage 4 now.
And to top it off we're still in the middle of moving, it's very slow going because I can't do a thing to help and my partner has to do the lot, he's reached out to various places for muscle help but no one will help us. Last weekend until Tuesday I was in hospital again and I asked the social workers for help, they refused and said to get friends and family to help, well the only friend we have, except on social media, is a 74 year old man with cancer himself and all of my family have passed away or live in Perth and we're in Adelaide.
It's really depressing with us both being on disibility pensions so pennies are scarce and we're having to pay two rents at the moment..
I might add that all of my blood tests have come back normal with no cancer markers at all.
Sorry to unburden myself in here but once I started I couldn't stop 😂

If you log onto MyGov they have a service called moving house, you may be eligible for an extra or even one of payment that could assist you with moving. Hope this helps

This is awful and so upsetting to hear l feel for you immensely. They must have made a mistake or got you mixed up with someone else. Are you on a package where you can get carers to help clean the house etc?
