Samantha McCulla, an interior designer based in Sydney, has shared her amazingly easy trick for replicating a thousand dollar Christmas tree for only $130.
The savvy stylist achieved her dream tree design using two $65 Big W Christmas trees and cable ties.
Samantha used two 195cm Washington White Christmas Trees available from Big W for $65.00 each. Photos from Facebook / Samantha McCulla.
“I came up with this brainwave idea not knowing if it would really work, but I was so happy with the results after setting it up yesterday,” said Samantha.
To start, Samantha laid one tree down on a flat surface and proceeded to individually attach the second tree's branches using cable ties.
After attaching the branches, she fluffed up each one to add extra volume and texture to the tree until she achieved her desired look.
The method may look simple, but it created a remarkable difference to the tree as it added an overall lusher and fuller appearance.
Once done, she positioned the tree up-right and placed it inside a white pot to hide the base. The soft LED lights were added for the final festive touch.
The two trees used for the project were the 195cm Washington White Christmas Tree from Big W, which perfectly replicated the 'Classic White Tree' from Balsam Hill, which costs up to $1,100.
Since posting on Facebook, her comparison photos have left people astonished. Many commented and thanked her for the helpful Christmas tree hack.
“Extremely clever and gorgeous,” wrote one woman, while another added: “You could get a matching garland and wrap it in between tree branches to give it a thicker look.”
We are definitely trying out this Christmas tree hack! Now, all that’s left is to choose which decorations to hang.
