As Australians, we're known for our love of a good pub meal.
The classic chicken parmigiana is a staple that's close to many of our hearts.
What if you could indulge in your favourite pub grub could also contribute to a noble cause?
Well, that's what's happening this February, thanks to ALH Hotels' 'Parma for a Farmer' campaign.
ALH Hotels, with its network of over 350 pubs, launched a heartwarming initiative merging Aussies' love for a hearty meal with the spirit of giving back.
For every chicken parmigiana sold throughout the month, $1 will be donated to Rural Aid, an organisation dedicated to supporting hardworking farmers.
The 'Parma for a Farmer' campaign is more than just about raising funds; it is also about raising spirits and raising awareness about farmers.
The money collected should provide a lifeline to farmers across Australia, particularly those grappling with the devastating effects of drought, floods, and other natural calamities.
Lukas McKay, ALH Hotels' General manager of Operations, expressed his excitement about this year's campaign.
'The parma has long been a favourite on our menu, and we are thrilled to turn every sale into an opportunity to give back,' McKay said.
McKay encouraged customers to visit their local ALH Hotel and enjoy a meal.
To jumpstart the initiative, several ALH Hotels suppliers donated a generous $50,000 donation.
Rural Aid's CEO, John Warlters, also expressed his gratitude for the campaign.
'The funds raised will go a long way in providing much-needed assistance to farmers and their families, who are facing some of the toughest times of their lives,' Mr Warlters said.
'Every dollar donated makes a difference in the lives of those who feed and sustain our nation.'
Every donation should contribute to vital services for farmers, such as mental health support, water delivery, and financial aid.
Last year, the 'Parma for a Farmer' initiative raised $154,770.
ALH Hotels aimed to exceed that amount this year, setting a positive tone for the fundraising efforts.
So, it's time to plan a night out at your local ALH Hotel this February.
Not only are you treating yourself to a delicious meal, but you will also support Aussie farmers who work tirelessly to put food on our tables.
It's a simple yet powerful way to show your support for the backbone of our nation.
Will you be participating in this year's 'Parma for a Farmer' campaign? Do you have any other ideas on how we can support our farmers? Let's come together and make a difference, so share your thoughts about this program in the comments below!
