As our world continues to change rapidly, there's so much that is different from how it used to be. Even the littlest of things, like how we watch our favourite television shows.
Do you remember the days when watching a TV show meant gathering with the family on the sofa at a specific time? Back then, there were no phones or tablets to distract us.
Oh, how times have changed! Now, with the advancements in technology, we watch TV on our own time, in our own way—whether it's pre-recorded or streaming live. And it's been a lifesaver for many.
It's even better when one of those shows is the ever-popular and highly-revered breakfast show, Sunrise—which is now being broadcasted from a brand-new home!
After more than 19 years of broadcasting from the Martin Place studio, the popular morning show announced that it was moving to a new home, the state-of-the-art Eveleigh studio, and it's so much more than just a change of scenery.
The new studio is an innovative and fashionable space, kitted out to ensure Sunrise viewers get the best and most entertaining experience on the small screen.
'Today makes a landmark day for Seven's news and public affairs division,' Seven Network’s Director of News and Public Affairs, Craig McPherson, said.
'For many years, we've been physically once removed from the rest of the network. Together alone. Not anymore. Sunrise and The Morning Show teams are now ensconced side by side with their 7NEWS colleagues and surrounded by the rest of the network.’
'It may sound unremarkable, but for the workforce, it has been a remarkable shift. Complemented by state-of-the-art studios made for broadcast, what's been created will set the standard for today and last well into the future,' he added.
On Monday morning, the much-anticipated first broadcast was finally unveiled, and unsurprisingly, hosts Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington were feeling the excitement radiating from the studio.
'So for the first time, hello from the all-new Brekky Central,' the duo said, 'We're in Sunrise's brand new home, and we can't wait to show you around.'
Introducing the new design and aesthetic, Mark Beretta, the sports presenter of the show, gave viewers a tour of the brand-new studio—from the impressive main studio area to the glamorous make-up and hair room.
Nicknamed the 'greenroom', this area is the epicentre of all things glam before, during and after Sunrise. Here, the presenters and guests are pampered with a touch-up from the salon.
'Our Martin Place studios were an iconic part of Australian TV for two decades, but the time has come to move to a new home,' Sarah Stinson, Seven Network's Director of Morning Television, went on to say.
'South Eveleigh allows us to bring world-class technology to breakfast television in a way that will enhance the experience for our much-loved viewers.'
'From today, viewers will see a brighter and fresher look, but the heart of our shows will never change. Our teams will continue to bring the best coverage of news, sport, weather, entertainment, and so much more—and we'll continue to have a laugh as only Sunrise and The Morning Show can.'
And that's just the beginning. Among the glorious new features, there's also a magnificent glass barrier, which provides a little bit of privacy between the Sunrise set and the studio for 7NEWS, who will now be broadcasting from the new headquarters.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the new season of Sunrise and The Morning Show, fresh from Eveleigh. And if you haven't got a chance to, make sure you also check out their impressive new studio; you certainly won't be disappointed.
