Stunning AI-generated images reveal what these iconic celebrities would've looked like at 80

We lost some of the world’s most beloved and talented performers far too early due to various untimely circumstances.

However, thanks to modern technology, we can now glimpse what some of these beloved celebrities could have become had they lived on long enough to hit their golden years.

Rap legend Tupac Shakur, soulful English singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse and many other once-in-a-lifetime talents sadly never got the opportunity to fulfil their incredible potential and brighten our days with their artistry longer.

But one software using ‘generative artificial intelligence’ managed to create mesmerising, realistic, and artistic images of how certain iconic figures would have looked like had they aged until the ripe old age of 80.

The software in question, Midjourney, works by taking the input of text prompts from its users and producing images that surpass expectations.

In this case, the application was requested to produce images of some of our dearly departed celebrities as realistically and artfully as possible.

Tupac Shakur, one of the most defining voices of modern hip-hop who tragically passed in 1996, was projected by Midjourney as a senior with beautiful silver-streaked hair.

The result is a gentleman who would have undoubtedly continued to shine, inspiring many others through his lyrics and social activism.

On the other hand, soulful English diva Amy Winehouse, whose untimely demise in 2011 robbed the world of her incredible artistry, was imagined by the software to have maintained her signature hairdo.

The AI-made picture of the late artist gives both a tangible feel of the ‘what ifs’ but also a warm and nostalgic vibe.

Furthermore, Chris Farley, who passed on at 33 years old in 1997 due to a drug overdose, was also reimagined.

The image showed the comedian, with New York City as his background, keeping his spark and hair colour well into his 80s.

Moreover, the late actor Heath Ledger was depicted sitting inside a convertible car at dus—giving a touch of his iconic and portentous charisma.

Ledger, known for his role as a cowboy in the film Brokeback Mountain and as Joker in The Dark Knight, died from an overdose in 2008 aged 28. He reportedly struggled with insomnia and anxiety in his final days.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become increasingly proficient at creating images from simple text prompts. This burgeoning technology identifies patterns between photographs and assigned text prompts, generating realistic photos from data that was fed.

While many marvel at the capabilities of AI, the rapid encroachment of deepfakes has also raised concerns.

Criminals are quickly finding new ways to use generative AI to improve the frauds they already perpetrate.

It has now become essential to stay informed about deepfakes to identify them and avoid being scammed. Below are some signs that could help you spot deepfakes:

Hardly bears worrying about.
I think some folk age naturally, some who have the money, try to un-ring the age bell.
Either way, horses for courses.
I have a bit of an idea how I will look past my 70's. I am a clone of my mother. If I can age like she did, I would be content.
