Stick-jaw toffees

Who here remembers their mother's stick jaw toffees? This sticky treat topped with desiccated coconut, hundreds and thousands , or nut brittles nearly pulled kids' teeth out back in the day. They were always a big hit at the school's annual homemade toffee day, they took hours to get through!

Never called them that, but Mum sure used to make lot, along with coconut ice for the school tuckshop and birthdays.
