Stay calm and cool for less with Kmart's latest summer additions!

As the Australian summer sun blazes down, beach enthusiasts know how to enjoy the sun and to seek shade during scorching midday hours.

While the beach is a place of relaxation and fun, it's also where the sun's rays could be most unforgiving.

The CoolCabana became a staple on many Australian beaches, as it offered a stylish and convenient way to stay cool and protected.

However, with prices starting at $189, it's not something everyone is willing to shell out money for.

Thankfully, for those looking for a more budget-friendly option, there are alternatives that don't compromise on quality or functionality.

Budget retailer Kmart recently launched their series of sunshades, sparking interest among shoppers.

Among the options, Kmart's CoolCabana dupe, retailing at $55, and a variety of beach shades starting at $20 were up for consideration.

However, it was the retailer's Hayden Beach Shelter (now $34) that stole the show with its glowing reviews.

The beach shelter had a 95+ per cent UV protection rating and had zip-up mesh windows for ventilation.

It instantly became a hit among beach-goers for its ease of use and portability.

'I got the Hayden one, and it's the best. I have used it five or six times now,' one shopper said.

'I have the Hayden one; it's great. Take it everywhere: beaches, the park, etc,' another wrote.

'Kids love it as well. They can lay down and have a rest when they tire out.'

'We picked up the Hayden to use yesterday, and it was perfect down the Gold Coast. We got it set up right before a bunch of rain hit, and there were four of us plus my baby sheltered from the rain while it passed,' a third shared.

'Packing it up and down is quick and easy. It's small and lightweight for transport. Bang for buck.'

The consensus among Kmart shoppers is clear: the Hayden Beach Shelter is a winner for its ease of assembly, spaciousness, and affordability.

On the other hand, some shoppers cautioned against the retailer's $20 pop-up shelter.

'Do not get the pop-up one! You'll never get it back down again,' one commented.

'We threw ours in the bin.'

'The $20 one is painful to fold back up,' another shared.

For those planning to hit the beach this summer, Kmart's Hayden Beach Shelter could be the savvy purchase that could keep you cool and protected, all while leaving a little extra in your wallet.

With bigger savings compared to the CoolCabana, it's an opportunity to enjoy the beach without the sting of a hefty price tag.
