You tie the camera onto a long piece of string and wizz it around your head.
Not really the Earth turns at 15 degrees an hour, so it happens with a long time exposure.

This is something that my nephew in SA would be able to do.

It requires you use a camera where you can leave the shutter open for long exposure.
Most DSLRs would have that feature.
Point it at the South Celestial Pole.
Of course have the camera on a tripod.
