Soft Drink Delivery Trucks

I remember when we not only had our bread and milk delivered ,we also had crates on soft drinks delivered.

We would go out when the truck arrived and pick the flavours we wanted .

I know we had the Crystal soft drink home delivered in Sydney and one other which I can't remember the name

Creaming soda was my fave. My parents always purchased a crate of softdrinks for Christmas. I recall trying to steal a bottle, as I could not resist it as a little girl! Dad kept the bottles in his garage. I was caught out several times, when he would hear the sound of the garage door. I decided to lift the door up enough for me to slither underneath like a snake! However, I decided best not too steal it, incase my Dad got mad at me.. t'was fun trying though!

It was like you kept getting caught with your hands in the cookies jar. How good are the memories that we forget about

I am one of ten children when we were young our Dad worked for the local soft drink company Shamies and did a trade as a soft drink maker. We would get a case of 12 mixed bottles of soft drinks for Xmas. We didn’t get to spend time choosing so I always took Sarsaparilla. When I was older Dad introduced me to beer and sars and I still love sars to this day. Another memory of paradise.

I still compare Loys Creaming Soda to brands available today. We had a standing mixed order. With many siblings the mix was wide.

Creamy or creaming soda, and Lime Coola were my favourites, especially poured over ice cream.
