Snag this season's must-have: Why everyone is obsessed with Kmart’s $29 summer product

As the Australian summer heats up, Kmart has once again become the talk of the town with its latest offering, which is making waves both in backyards and on social media.

The retail giant, known for its budget-friendly yet trendy products, has released a 2-in-1 Inflatable Pool Lounger that enthusiastic shoppers have dubbed 'the buy of the summer'.

This versatile item, priced at a very reasonable $29, is the newest must-have for those looking to soak up the sun in style.

The 2-in-1 Inflatable Pool Lounger ($29) is more than your average pool float.

Its innovative design allows it to be used as a comfortable float on the water or filled with water to serve as a personal pool, making it a perfect addition to any summer relaxation arsenal.

The lounger has a removable inflatable headrest and a cup holder, ensuring your relaxation time is as comfortable and convenient as possible.

Imagine lounging in the sun with a cold drink in hand, without a care in the world—the kind of leisure Kmart promises with this product.

Despite its recent launch, the lounger has already sold out online.

But don't fret, pool enthusiasts and sunbathers! Kmart has assured us that more stock will arrive online in December and January, so keep your eyes peeled for restocks.

‘The Kmart 2-in-1 Inflatable Pool Lounger is designed to bring more fun and relaxation to family pool days, letting everyone enjoy floating or lounging in the sun with ease,’ a Kmart spokesperson said.

‘It has been popular because it combines comfort and versatility, offering a fun way for families to relax and play in the pool.’

‘Its everyday low price and durable design make it a favourite without breaking the budget.’

Inflating the lounger is a breeze, with options to use a foot pump, hand pump, or low-pressure electric pump.

And the excitement doesn't stop there—fans have loved Kmart's entire pool and beach range.

From a $14 Inflatable Deluxe Lounger praised for its stylish and practical nature to an array of whimsical kids' pool toys featuring ride-on sharks, crocodiles, avocados, flamingoes, and unicorns, there's something for everyone.

Social media influencers and shoppers have quickly shared their joy over this summer sensation.

One user without a pool showcased how she enjoyed the lounger in her backyard.

‘For the girls without pools, this one is for you,’

The lounger's versatility makes it a hit for those who prefer to stay close to home or don't have easy access to swimming spots.

However, amidst the excitement, some have raised concerns about the potential for these products to encourage prolonged sun exposure.

‘It’s 2024, sis. We don’t tan. We wear sunscreen and prevent melanoma,’ one said.

‘Smart girls don’t tan. They seek shade and slap sunscreen on so they don’t look like prunes,’ another echoed.

Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer diagnoses in the world, and it's crucial to remember the importance of sun safety.

While enjoying these summer essentials, it's vital to apply sunscreen with at least SPF30+, wear protective clothing, and seek shade whenever possible.

Kmart's previous sellout product, the $39 Palm Sun Lounger Face Down, also made a splash with its unique design, which allows for comfortable face-down lounging, much like a massage table.

This, too, received rave reviews from customers who appreciated the thoughtfulness behind its design.

When I was growing up, I was happy running through the sprinklers.
Then, they opened a local pool, so, my siblings and I walked 4ks to go for a swim, then got all hot and bothered walking home, so, out came the sprinkler.
Now, I can see no use floating on water when I would rather be under the water. Like Collette, I would need a pulley to help me up.
My puppies would take one look at this blow up thing, find the valve and use it as a chew toy.
