Snack Chocolate
Who remembers McRobertson’s Snack Chocolate Block?
McRobertsons was a chocolate maker in Melbourne from 1880 to 1967 and produced a range of chocolate blocks, bars and lollies including the Old Gold box of chocolates, Snack chocolate block, Freddo chocolate frogs and chocolate bars including Violet Crumble and Polly Waffles.
Founder Macpherson Robertson died in 1945 and in 1967 his heirs sold the company to English confectioner Cadbury, which in 1969 merged with Schweppes Australia to become Cadbury Schweppes. The newly merged company continued to manufacture many of the former company's products including: Freddo, Columbines and Cherry Ripe and which continued to display the company's distinctive logo on its wrapper until 2002.
Snack featured a lot of the best loved flavours of the Old Gold box of chocolates but in a block of chocolate.

I remember packing these at Cadbury's in Ringwood Vic. They put me on the Freddo Frog machine one day, I had Freddo's shooting all over the place, they never put me there again.
