Simon says...what? Confused Aussie seeks answers after bizarre vandalism incident

Folks, get ready for a wild ride because this story of mistaken identity and vandalism is sure to make your jaw drop.

We all look forward to the weekend as a time to unwind and forget about our worries. But for Kirk, a Wollongong resident, his Friday night plans took a shocking turn.

As he approached his beloved blue Subaru parked in the heart of the city, he noticed something strange etched into the paint job. Along with scratches running the length of the car, there was a bold statement that read, 'F*ck you, Simon'.

The only problem? Kirk's name isn't Simon! Talk about a case of mistaken identity.

In a recent interview, Kirk shared his thoughts on the bizarre incident. 'I'm not quite sure how to feel. One part of me is super frustrated,' he said. 'But the other part is very intrigued to know the context around whoever did this and why. What has Simon done?'

We can't imagine how Kirk must have felt seeing his prized possession vandalised, but we have to admit, the situation is pretty comical.

Vandalism is never a pleasant experience, and it can be especially frustrating when you're the victim of a case of mistaken identity. Repairs can also be expensive, and for those on a fixed income, the costs can be overwhelming. In Kirk's case, repairing the damages to his car will cost him a staggering $1,300!

Despite the hefty price tag, Kirk did the right thing by notifying the police in hopes of catching the vandal. Unfortunately, without any CCTV footage or eyewitnesses, finding the culprit has proven to be a challenge.

'Unless we hear from a blue Subaru-driving Simon who resides close by, it's probably going to be hard,' Kirk shared.

It's a shame that the perpetrator hasn't come forward to clear up the confusion and take responsibility for their actions. Hopefully, justice will prevail, and Kirk will be able to get the compensation he deserves.

Despite the frustrating and inconvenient nature of the incident, Kirk has managed to keep a good sense of humour about the whole thing. He even shared pictures of the damage online, hoping that someone would come forward with information that could help catch the unnamed vandal.

Online users showed their support, with one commenting, 'Simon has certainly been a naughty boy,' and another adding, 'Your post was funny — the damage is not. I hope you find the person responsible, and they help fix it.'

Kirk is still hoping that a good Samaritan will come forward with information that can shed more light on this bizarre case of mistaken identity. 'It would be great if someone had proper information that could lead to something more concrete,' he said.

A news outlet has reached out to NSW Police for further information, and with any luck, they may soon get some leads that will put this confusing conundrum to rest. We can only hope that justice will be served and that the real Simon — if there is one — will step forward to clear up the confusion.

I might suggest that the perpetrator of this incident is a moron. My suggestion to Simon (our Simon I mean) is to check his comprehensive insurance policy. He will most likely have to stump up for the excess but the insurer should cover the rest. Also, insurers are very aggressive in trying to recoup their losses and it can be surprising how aggressive they can be in these circumstances so whoever damaged Simons' paintwork - watch out.

Poor Kirk finding his car vandalised like that! Good on him for maintaining good sense of humour about it.

Kirk ought to get his local Wollongong newspaper & The Herald Sun to do a story on his experience. Hopefully there will be a reader who knows more to the story, maybe even the vandal might come forward!

The Panel on TV might like to put it as one of their stories. Media is the best way to get the message out there. TV, radio, newspapers, magazines as they all look for stories. Good idea to put his story on Facebook too. Lost pets have been found on Facebook posts.
