Sick of dodgy deliveries? This one went to the dog—literally!

A Brisbane dog has gone viral for accidentally ‘signing’ for a package.

The confused delivery sparked a wave of laughter—and criticism—online.

But not everyone found the incident funny.

A Queensland resident took to social media earlier this month to share a baffling photo of a delivery gone wrong.

In the image, a small puppy could be seen clinging to a recently delivered FedEx parcel—one the courier claimed had been successfully ‘signed for’.

The poster wrote: ‘This is the photo the FedEx driver took of my parcel being delivered. You cannot make this stuff up!!!’

While the dog appeared eager to take the delivery, many were quick to note the risk involved if the parcel had been fragile.

The post’s title: ‘Delivery drivers these days…’, only added to the hilarity for some viewers.
One commenter joked: ‘I can't tell if he passed it to your dog or your dog was like “I can take it from here thanks”. Love the in action photo haha.’

Another wrote: ‘ATL Automatic is an interesting name for your dog,’ poking fun at the label FedEx used to log the recipient signature.

Others joined in with their own delivery tales and photos, adding to the light-hearted chaos.

‘I got one of those too,’ one user said.

‘Gives same vibe as my Hello Fresh delivery,’ another added.

But the laughter didn’t last long—soon the conversation turned into a heated debate over who was truly at fault.

The original poster clarified they had asked for the parcel to be left inside their large letterbox.

Some sympathised, sharing similar experiences where deliveries went awry despite clear instructions.

‘Had this happen to me once. Postie just threw the package over the fence and I came home to it torn to shreds by my dogs. Managed to get a full refund as the delivery instructions were to take it to the post office. Funny photo but can also be so infuriating,’ one person shared.

However, others said the blame lay with the pet owner.

‘I feel for these posties having to deal with potentially aggressive untrained dogs daily. This one is on you man,’ one comment read.

Another added: ‘So are they meant to risk their livelihood for your parcel? Maybe make sure there is a safe (dog free) area to deliver. It is not on society to like your dog.’

A third agreed: ‘This made me laugh, but at the risk of sounding like a jerk, if it’s your dog that’s on you.’

FedEx has been contacted for comment.

If you’ve ever had a delivery go wrong, you’ll know how frustrating it can be when parcels aren’t handled as expected.

While some mishaps are downright bizarre—like a dog ‘signing’ for a FedEx delivery—others point to larger issues in how deliveries are managed.

That’s why a new update from Australia Post is making headlines, aiming to change the way packages are tracked and delivered.
