Shoppers who found 'secret lip gloss' in ALDI lipsticks are being warned about possible health hazard: "Be very careful"

Everyone here at the SDC supports clever "life hacks" that not only make our daily lives much simpler but also enable us to save a few dollars here and there.

Having said that, we also have to admit that some of the so-called "hacks" that are out there on the internet are just too good to be true – like this "secret lip gloss" tip that has been making the rounds among makeup lovers on social media.

Several Aldi customers bragged on Facebook about a 'life hack' they recently discovered – apparently, the Lacura lipsticks sold at the store can be disassembled to reveal a hidden "lip gloss" inside.

You're getting a lot more products for your money than you would have expected. That must be a good thing, right?

Apparently, no, it's not.

The alleged "lip gloss" in question here is not actually a beauty product. Some social media users claim that it's just a chemical that matches the colour of the lipstick to show women its true shade.

Because of the possibility that it is toxic, people are warning shoppers that the secret "lip gloss" should not be applied to the lips in any way.

A mum from Brisbane was the first shopper to rave about the discovery on social media. "My mind is blown!" she wrote, "Am I the last one to figure out there's lip gloss at the bottom of the Aldi lipstick?"

Sure enough, plenty more women who were previously unaware of the information found out about it and decided to open their lipsticks themselves.

"I did not know that!" a fellow mum wrote. "I just grabbed mine and opened it up and sure enough, there was lip gloss inside. Thank you for sharing!"

A second woman added that she had the lipstick for years now but never knew that there was a hidden "lip gloss" section inside.

Other women were more sceptical of the discovery, saying that people should be careful about using products that are not advertised as such.

One user on Facebook wrote, "My guess is that it's not meant to be lip gloss and to show the colour of the lipstick only. If it was lip gloss they would have made it easier to 1. Open it and 2. To get it out without having to use a lip brush. I would be very careful."

And true enough, the Brisbane mum said she almost broke the lipstick just to access the secret "lip gloss" inside. This means, we suspect, that the product wasn't really meant to be opened like that.

You read it here first, members! If you have previously purchased a Lacura lipstick yourself, remember: you're not getting more product if you open it up! Otherwise, you may be putting yourself at risk…

Some people should be re-born. My Mum used to say "to be poor is not a shame, but to be stupid!! And here it is ... the proof .... lipgloss isn't that expensive. But to butcher a lipstick and to think there is a hidden lipgloss, now that is stupid!

Absolutely stupid. They'd quickly tell you IF you had a freebee on board when advertising the product. THAT would be a "selling point." Haven't you learned yet that nothing comes for nothing when you have to dig something out? Their cosmetic range is good & cheap so what more do you want??? Everything for nothing? They need to make a profit on your cheap deal also.

Don't you love these people who "expect" everything for nothing or cheap yet never offer the smallest handout. "Takers" you'll find are in a class of their own. Just ignore them. They STILL have to live & learn.
Stay with your own class if you are a giver. "Givers" are gracious. loving, kind & they can look in a mirror & know the image is their lovely soul.

Why is it that these "Life Hack" exponents generally have their photo included in the hack details? Anything to get their 'pusses" in print! Nothing to do with some usually useless information or in the rare event, details of well known facts, but more to do with self promotion. The "me" generation strikes again.
