Shoppers perplexed by an UNSOLVED black mark on a Kmart doll’s head – “That looks so strange!”

Where is Sherlock Holmes when we need him? If you enjoy indulging in mystery-themed stories that keeps you at the edge of your seat, then you’re on the right track. This story about an odd occurrence will have you scratching your head!

A black mark on the head of a doll from Kmart fascinated hundreds of users, hailing it as ‘more intriguing than Netflix’. One Kmart shopper shared images of her child’s doll on a well-known Facebook group, showing how it had a dark discolouration on the back of its head.

Wondering as to what could have caused the random blemish, the perplexed mum reached out to fellow Kmart fans in hopes of an answer.

“Does anyone have this doll? We’ve had a random black mark appear on the back of the head (definitely not from pen, paint, etc).” she asked on the Kmart Hacks & Decor Facebook page.

“Am wondering if it’s a burn mark or if something is wrong with the mechanism inside that makes the doll ‘talk’. It started out fairly small but has gradually gotten bigger. No smells or anything from it.”

“Contemplating on cutting it open to take a better look but wondering if anyone else has it and has the same happen?” the mum added.

Users flocked to the comments to express their concern on the mysterious spot.

“This is pretty scary. Mould or burn marks .... either way, not good. Eager to hear the outcome.” one person responded.

“I cut one open several years ago for this reason and found it to be full of mould. Quite concerning!” another added.

People were begging for the mum to ‘perform surgery’ on the doll to get to the bottom of the case.

“I have never been so invested in a story about a doll before, but at the same time have a strange eagerness to want to see her head cut open.” a user wrote.

“Oh please cut it and let us know! That looks so strange. To me, it looks like either mould or burn marks. The fact it’s mechanical scares me a little.” another said.

“Cut it open already, the suspense is killing me.” added a third.

“This post has been more intriguing than watching Netflix!” commented another.

After a couple of days, the mum returned with an update after deciding to cut open the doll’s scalp – what she discovered left her even more bewildered!

“Have cut it open and the mark goes through the ‘skin’ but not on the inside of the head so still not sure what it is.” she indicated on the post. “The mark doesn’t budge when cleaned, definitely doesn’t look like mould either so [it is] still a mystery.”

“My little one hasn’t dragged it on the floors but has thrown it around a fair bit. Possibly left in direct sunlight. I’m as puzzled as the rest of you!” The confused mum added.

Another Kmart shopper who claimed that she had purchased several of the same dolls before shared that she had never come across one with a mark like this before.

“I’ve had at least 10 of these as it’s my daughter's comfort toy since she was a baby so they would get thrashed and we’d replace them. We have never had this happen to any of them!” she said.

I believe it is possibly mould within the plastic.
It won't grow like you'd expect on the outside, it's growing IN the plastic....like a cancer.
You can't clean it off or disinfect it.....
