Shoppers outraged! Coles vows to bring back convenient online feature after backlash

As technology speeds ahead and transforms modern life, it's not always easy to keep up with change, especially when it comes to online shopping.
Take Coles' website revamp, for example.
The supermarket giant recently released a refreshing new look for its website, designed — according to them — to make it easier for customers to find and purchase their groceries.
However, after a few shoppers tested it out, the reaction has been mixed, to say the least.
It turns out, the redesign of the site appears to have gotten rid of some much-loved features, including options to find the lowest unit prices for items, and search for products previously bought on the website!
Though this is only the case when viewing Coles’ website using a mobile phone.
Unsurprisingly, customers were enraged.
‘That is so important for everyone that is trying to do their online shopping and stay within a budget,’ one shopper said of the missing unit price filter.
‘Mindblown why they would take that away.’
‘Yes… we use online ordering for our commercial kitchen at the respite centre as we are constrained by set budgets, this just makes it so hard,’ another stressed.
And a third one added: ‘This was the only reason I stopped with Coles until Woolies finally caught up and added it too.’
Customers also made their gripes at the redesign known on Coles’ Facebook page, where many took time to point out their sad online retail shopping experiences.
‘Where’s the sorting by A to Z, lowest unit pricing, bought before specials, etc? (I) absolutely hate it,’ one woman who branded Coles as having the ‘worst online shopping website’ said.
Others called the website ‘awful’ and a ‘muddled-up mess’.
Looking to fix the problem, Coles recently told media that they plan to restore some of the more popular features in mid-January, including, of course, the 'sort by unit price' feature.
‘Customers who wish to provide feedback are encouraged to do so via the website,’ they added.
So, members, if the new Coles website isn't exactly impressing you right now, fear not! Those helpful search filters will return soon.
Just stay patient, and carry on with your shopping in the meantime! You can always provide your feedback to Coles if you have any suggestions.
Speaking of Coles and shoppers, be sure to check any leafy greens — specifically, baby spinach — you may have bought recently as they may be part of a wide recall issued over fears of poisoning.
You may also want to check out their seafood items on sale, as well as their secret apology discounts for select customers.
So, what is your reaction to this news? If ever you’ve shopped online at Coles, how was your shopping experience?
