Shoppers compare $14 Kmart find to $200 designer version and rave over it

If there’s one thing Aussies love more than a good night’s sleep, it’s snagging a bargain—especially when it means getting the look of luxury for a fraction of the price.

And right now, Kmart has done it again, with a $14 pyjama set that’s being hailed as a 'perfect dupe' for a designer version costing nearly $200!

Let’s set the scene: Melbourne-based lifestyle brand Hommey has made a name for itself with its colourful, ultra-comfy sleepwear.

Their signature Sleep Pant and Sleep Shirt, featuring chic pinstripes and a plush feel, have become a cult favourite.

But at $99 each (that’s $198 for the set!), they’re a splurge that’s out of reach for many of us—especially when you’re watching the pennies in retirement.

Kmart, the hero of the high street, with its Family Matching Printed Flannel Pyjama Set.

For $14, you can slip into a set that looks strikingly similar to the Hommey original—sky-blue, pinstriped, and oh-so-cosy.

Fashion content creator Celine Clark was among the first to spot the dupe, and she couldn’t contain her excitement.

'About damn time,' she declared in her viral video, showing off the Kmart PJs and raving about their comfort and warmth.

Celine’s review was glowing: 'For $14 for like a dupe, I thought this was pretty good.'

She praised the 'nice and long' pants, the 'cosy' flannelette fabric, and the 'lovely' colour palette.

The only caveat is that the sizing runs a bit generous, so you might want to try before you buy or consider sizing down if you’re after a snug fit.

But the best part? These aren’t just for the ladies. The set is part of Kmart’s family matching range, so you can kit out the whole household—men, women, and kids alike—in matching PJs for under $60.

Imagine the family photos! Or, if you’re a grandparent, how about a fun sleepover with the grandkids, all in matching nightwear? It’s a memory in the making, and it won’t break the bank.

This isn’t the first time Kmart has delivered a designer-inspired steal.

Last year, eagle-eyed shoppers spotted a $25 satin pyjama set in Kmart’s winter range that looked almost identical to a luxe Peter Alexander version—right down to the navy colour and white piping.

It’s clear that Kmart has its finger on the pulse when it comes to affordable fashion, and we’re here for it!

Why are 'dupes' so popular? For many of us, it’s about getting the look and feel of high-end brands without the hefty price tag.

Whether you’re on a fixed income or just love a good deal, finding a quality alternative means you can treat yourself (and your loved ones) without the guilt.

Plus, with the cost of living on the rise, every dollar saved counts.

Of course, there are a few things to keep in mind when shopping for dupes.

The materials might not be quite as luxe as the designer version, and the fit can vary.

But as Celine and countless other shoppers have found, sometimes the budget-friendly option is just as good—if not better—than the original.

So, if you’re looking to refresh your winter sleepwear or want to surprise the family with a fun, matching set, it might be time to make a beeline for your local Kmart.

At $14, these PJs are flying off the shelves, and it’s easy to see why.

I purchased these for My daughter, and unfortunately she didn't like the feel to them. She said they were not soft and was very stiff and hard.
She does have sensitive skin and yes I washed them before she wore them.

A thick robe normally $119 , I paid $44

A pair of pyjamas normally $145 I paid $38
Plus a few more items at amazing prices.
I paid $198 for over $1000 worth of items

Well done, absolute bargain.
You get what you pay for in most cases
KMart dupes might be cheap, but that's exactly what they are cheap .. and nasty.
In saying that there is no way I'd pay $198 for pyjsmas.
I bought my daughter some lovely super soft thermal pyjamas through InFashion for $89.

Tell her to look on line there are huge sales.
When I worked in the city we always purchased the candles from P A they were glasshouse candles and everyone commented on the nice smell as soon as they walked in

Right now I am looking at a Glasshouse "A Tahaa Affair" Vanilla Caramel scented candle that I received last Christmas. I haven't used it yet but take the lid off occasionally and take a big sniff!! Ahhhh!!
We always got the vanilla Caramel. Customers would always say it smelt like a lolly shop

We tried a different fragrance once and it gave us all a headache
