Hang on, he did not pay for the upgrade they gave it to him, no money exchanged. One thing though is the seat allocation after, which he did pay for, I would have wanted my original seat and pushed for it. And of cause never fly with them again.

What puzzles me is that the seat for the service dog would have been fully paid for and not an upgrade. The picture shows that the seats are in the coach area, not first class. The complainant was given a free upgrade to first class so he must have been a problem passenger to be asked to return to the coach area. In my opinion, he was just a whinger with absolutely no reason to complain. I would say that Delta did their job well and they should find a different passenger!
 
Why did Delta not adhere to their own rules. I would not be happy to have a disability passenger and dog in an exit row. These seats are for able bodied passengers to aid easy exit in an emergency. Also it says dogs are not to impede other passengers seating. No way Delta for me
 
Sorry, but that "dog" has spent hours and hours in training and is an extention of their owner. Has every right to be there and you should have stayed in seat allocated to you in first place. I object to people bringing their dogs to flower shows and sporting events etc. They are not service dogs and would probably rather stay at home in the shade.
