Shock Reaction: 'Childish' Prince Harry Skit on Sunrise Leaves Viewers Divided

Prince Harry has been the topic of countless headlines around the world since the release of his tell-all memoir, Spare. As the topic of conversation continues, one thing is for sure – Harry has definitely been keeping the world on its toes.

The Duke of Sussex's book has become the fastest-selling non-fiction book of all time in the UK, with plenty of juicy revelations unfolding as readers work their way through the pages.

But when Sunrise hosts Monique Wright and Matt Doran decided to mention Harry while promoting the book live on Wednesday morning, viewers had a few things to say.

The duo entertained viewers with their interpretation of Harry's book Spare, with Mylee Hogan and Mark Beretta joining them on the couch in a show of support.

At the end of the show, Matt read from the book to Monique, with her feet resting on his knee and head on Mylee's lap.

'Soon after we returned to Britain, the Palace announced that Willy was going to marry,' he read, to which Monique dramatically responded with: 'And then what?!'

The hosts were also surprised to learn that Prince Harry has a nickname for his brother...

Matt quipped: 'He calls him Willy, interesting!'

'Yeah, that's new!' Mark added.

The playful skit prompted many viewers to praise Monique and Matt's 'great chemistry' on the show, with some calling their content 'fun to watch'.

One person said: 'Monique and Matt have great chemistry together and you never know what they’ll come up with next which makes them fun to watch.'

'We can’t get enough of them,' another added.

A third chimed in: 'You guys are awesome. Enjoyed the laughs, Mon you crack us up.'

Monique and Matt have been filling in for Nat Barr and David ‘Kochie’ Koch over the holiday period, and it seems they’ve made quite an impression with the audience.

One comment read: 'Mon and Matt should continue to do the show.'

'I am going to miss Mon and Matt, you were so much fun.'

However, not everyone was a fan of the segment - some even urged the show to stop talking about Harry.

'It would be good if you guys can not talk about him so much every morning,' one user commented.

Another wrote: 'Not interested in Harry don’t really care, [I'm] over hearing about him.'

A third added: 'I hate this show. So dumb and childish.'

Key Takeaways

  • Sunrise hosts Monique Wright and Matt Doran have divided viewers after they joked about Prince Harry's memoir, 'Spare', during the show
  • Some viewers applauded the presenters for their on-screen rapport while others found the skit to be 'childish'
  • The memoir features a number of headline-making bombshells, including claims that Harry had begged King Charles not to marry Camilla and that Prince William and Kate Middleton had convinced him to wear a Nazi costume
  • Viewers have urged the show to stop mentioning Prince Harry so much on-air.

The prince's record-breaking memoir recounts a number of startling incidents, from his father King Charles' relationship with his wife Camilla, to Prince William and Kate Middleton convincing him to don a Nazi costume for a 2005 party.

The release of the memoirs has certainly caused a great deal of controversy and questions remain over whether it is appropriate for a member of the British Royal Family to speak out in the public domain. The balance between the public's right to know and their right of privacy is a delicate one.

Keeping this in mind, Harry’s decision to release a ‘tell all’ book is certainly not new. Here are some royal memoirs that made the headlines in recent years:

How can they even say they are reporting news. What a pair of wankers. It amazes me that anyone watches this show. Harry deserves to have his voice heard and stuff the media for their nonstop harassment of him and Meghan. They call him a liar but run out to buy his book. Bunch of hypocrites. I include a lot of dyed in the wool royalists in that remark too. Nobody knows what really goes on behind palace walls except those who live there. Apparently a poll was run and Harry and Meghan are more hated than Andrew. He is a sex offender in my eyes,Harry stepped away from royal duties,no comparison whatsoever.

Writing these tell all books about their upbringing or lack of, none of these scribes appear to be particularly bright!! The latest being written by someone else, too lazy to get off his arse and pen his own memoir.

Stop! No more Harry. Please. He is not the only one in the royal family who hasn’t got what they wanted or needed. If you are so interested in looking at dysfunctional families, then look at your own because all families are dysfunctional in someway or another.

Harry would be far more credible if he’d stopped whining months ago. His continued barrages discredits everything he’s trying to do. I’m sorry for him but so darned sick and tired of him! Give us a break, for goodness sakes! As for sunrise…….*yawn*. What a bunch of tossers.

My American friends have told me that they are sick & tired of Harry & Meghan's behaviour of self obsession. They want them to stop whining on tv & interviews.
We don't get the same saturated media coverage of them as they do.

I don't know how people even get up in the morning and put the telly on to watch this crap, especially with that Kosh gronk, and it's long overdue for the media to leave Harry alone.
Lighten up Harry needs to be brought into line because of his lies. The more people take the piss the better that entitled cretin and his hanger on wife will soon br forgotten

When the 'All-2-Soon' happens to either Harry or Meghan, which can happen to any one, then I dare say will regret what they have done. If Harry goes first and it's just Meghan and two children, she will not be welcome in the UK and her On Air will be reduced to zero. Neither Harry or Markel has given thought to their full future(s) and that of their children. If they both go and the children are by themselves, then the two children will be taken to the UK for their education and upbringing.

Who'd have thought that Lisa Marie Presley would pass away 12 January 2023. I bet she didn't think that when she was at the Golden Globes just days ago with her mum, that she only had a couple of days left. Plus, her passing was not due to an accident, but an acute illness. That's how quickly things can change for any individual.

Harry's book will soon be on sale for about $1.95-$4.50 and even at that price will be too expensive. Better to buy a loaf of bread or milk, or both. Aldi $1.99 loaf and $2.50 2L Milk and one less Dust Collector in the house.

Finding Sarah: A Duchess's Journey to Find Herself by Sarah Ferguson

The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, has authored more than a dozen novels, more than any other member of the British royal family on this list.

Anyway members, what’s your take on the skit Monique and Matt pulled? Do you think their act was offensive? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Who cares!

Stop! No more Harry. Please. He is not the only one in the royal family who hasn’t got what they wanted or needed. If you are so interested in looking at dysfunctional families, then look at your own because all families are dysfunctional in someway or another.
You got that right until one of us was in trouble then one in all in.

I don't know how people even get up in the morning and put the telly on to watch this crap, especially with that Kosh gronk, and it's long overdue for the media to leave Harry alone.
Agree
Harry would be far more credible if he’d stopped whining months ago. His continued barrages discredits everything he’s trying to do. I’m sorry for him but so darned sick and tired of him! Give us a break, for goodness sakes! As for sunrise…….*yawn*. What a bunch of tossers.
everyone needs to stop fuelling the fire by ignoring them. No more interviews or book launches just ignore them. No news stories. This include seniors disc club. We’re all sick of them.

I feel sorry for Harry and really pity him. He is leading the same life as his mum, Princess Diana who was a very sensitive, emotional, and caring soul who just asked for and needed love and understanding, and never got it from her husband nor his family. It appears to me that Harry is very similar to his Mum, and just wants and needs Love and Sensitivity... Harry comes across as a lad who is misunderstood and just needs Love and Sensitivity, and is not interested in The Firm and their silly games with the Media, as he was constantly reminded all his life that he was not the important one, merely The Spare - in case something terrible happened to William. What right have we to Judge him? We know not what he has gone through after Diana died, nor what he has had to deal with. Very little support and understing from his Father who was in love with another woman and he only had Therapists to talk with about his problems... May he who has not sinned should cast the first stone! and no, I have not, nor will not, purchase the Book. He is clearly feeling Hurt, Unloved, Sad and Misunderstood.
