See how this Kmart shopper created a luxurious laundry transformation with $400

We’ve all got that one room in our house that desperately needs a makeover.

But rather than break the bank to revamp it, why not see if you can find some Kmart items that’ll make a huge impact—as this savvy shopper did?

Earlier this week, a Kmart fan took to social media to share her impressive before-and-after photos of her laundry transformation—and people were seriously impressed with the results.

'Our laundry was in desperate need of an update, but I didn’t want to spend a heap on it, so Kmart to the rescue!' she wrote.

With just a few pieces from the budget retailer, she was able to renovate her laundry room into a more productive space for only $400.

Though this makeover was done on a budget, the room is nothing less than luxurious; it looks expensive—and if you’re handy when it comes to DIY, you could do something similar!

To completely transform her laundry into a stylish but practical space, she used the Fraser Rattan cupboard ($99) and the Rattan wardrobe ($159) from Kmart, which she said offered the room a 'quick little refresh'.

She added a bench top from Bunnings to the cupboard, added a seal to the bench top to protect it from spills, and mounted her dryer to the wall for an extra shelving unit.

She then grabbed some accessories from Target and Kmart to finish off the look.

People just couldn’t believe how great this DIY renovation looked, and plenty of others praised her creative flair for the transformation.

‘How did you even think of doing that? It's brilliant,’ one person wrote.

‘Job well done! That is so clever! You have totally transformed your laundry,’ another commented.

Others said she had made some budget-savvy choices that had paid off—with one person even revealing they had done something similar but spent over $2,000 in comparison.

But while there was an abundance of praise for the project, some people warned her to be careful of one particular issue: mould.

‘Please be aware that rattan can get mould easily,’ a social media user warned.

Another said: ‘Please maybe seal it by rolling on a clear coat of paint [and] make sure that there is plenty of ventilation when using the dryer in there to avoid this happening to all your hard work.’

Thankfully, she had already considered this, having sealed the area and used a mini humidifier to keep it all fresh.

I think they will regret the ratan furniture in the Winter months … it will soak in all the fluff from the dryer and very hard to clean unless you want to try and vacuum it off daily! 💨 Not my choice 😳🤔👎 Just saying… ?

I'd like to see the after photo in a couple of weeks or a months time. Nice clean up, getting the dry off the floor was the best option (assuming you actually need one).
