SDC Rewards: Suggestions?

Hello dear members!

I can usually be found posting in the SDC Rewards forum, but today, I wanted to say hi to everyone and ask for your thoughts.

If you're not an SDC Rewards member, is there something you'd like to see added to the membership that would make it worthwhile?

Or, if you have upgraded already, I'd love to hear what makes it worthwhile to you!

Since launching the premium membership, SDC Rewards has come a long way, including introducing our monthly $1000 Sweepstakes draw, an 8-part interactive cybersecurity course, weekly good news (that always includes cute animals), and, of course, our (now sold out) mugs!

As 2024 draws to a close, I want to ensure that I prioritise the things you'd most like to see. ⭐❤️

i do not understand the value of the membership.
i am a disability pensioner, so earning extra money is very hard for me.
i need to justify to myself the reason i spend money.
so, what is the benefit of $50 a year.
not a lot to most.
but everything to others.
about 1 days pay for me.

I honestly see it mostly as a 'donation' to help keep the newsletter afloat. Because of my situation, I can't make use of a number of things, eg, recipes etc., but still enjoy the news, jokes and feedback - each to his own.
Members who can't afford it should not feel obligated and realise they are not being discriminated against. (y)

Yep, I could get it all free, but a lot of effort goes into upkeeping it every day. So to me (an 85 year old pensioner) $50 works out to 14c per day for what is an enjoyable distraction. Old age is something many magazine cannot, or do not cater for; so I just do not buy them anymore. Then there is the off chance of winning a bit of cash. I'm happy!

If I were younger I would certainly join, but at 87 in an aged care home I dont really feel the need to, but I really enjoy your daily newsletter and thankful that I can access everything in it again, it is so informative and keeps me in touch with the world around me. Thankyou, Regards Erin

I enjoy reading the Newsletter it takes time and hard work to gather information to keep
Us in touch with what is going on some of it we may never get to know or hear about so
Contributing to SD is one way to keep in touch with the outside world .. I for one have not
bought a paper for years now and not everything you hear on TV IS GOSPEL.

I would like to buy one of the SDC mugs that are advertised..... can I.... and how... without having
to join/become something at a cost.... a lot of 'offers' are out there however, you have to supply all
of your personal info, join/become a member at a cost. Maybe 'offering the mugs/other items' may
help with running costs of the site.... enjoy the site and interacting.... keep up the good work...

The mugs are only provided to those with a membership who are helping to keep the club viable.
How would providing mugs to non members help with running costs??? The mugs cost money, as does the postage.

I look forward to my morning newsletter, with A wide variety of topics every day ,so the $50 to me is well spent considering the amount of work that goes into it each day.
I understand that in these times its hard for some to afford this cost ; Do not feel like second class,we all have to try and live within our means. 🍎🍎

Many of you will laugh at me being a life member at 95 but it is worth it to me to help keep the club running, it covers so much information that otherwise I would miss out on.

Good for you Dennis and may you live for many years to come.

Top of my list has to be no more advertisements, I nearly walked it quits on here as it was becoming impossible to read or post without 100s of adverts popping up.

I don't mind paying the small fee to keep this site going rather that dealing with the advertisements .
I have never had adverts pop up on this forum. If you're on a computer/laptop, or even a phone, you can get a popup/add blocker, problem solved :)
