Sausage Sizzle Showdown: War of words inside Bunnings carpark

Most of us here have probably heard our fair share of funny sausage sizzle stories over the years, but this one from a Bunnings in South Australia on Sunday has to be the wildest yet!

The incident involved an outraged driver who was just trying to get out of the carpark, only to find the route blocked off by another car, whose driver was caught grabbing a snag at the nearest Bunnings sausage sizzle stand!

The altercation that followed was both heated and totally unexpected — not just for the poor volunteer manning the BBQ, but also for the driver of the car that had caused the unexpected commotion.

However, to his credit, he kept his cool (and continued to chow down on the pièce de résistance of the Aussie snag scene) even in the face of the angry driver, who confronted him for parking in the wrong spot.

The drama began when one driver mistakenly parked their car in the path of other vehicles, meaning they were unable to pass and had to wait while the driver enjoyed a snag.

Understandably, the stalled traffic irritated other drivers, who were made to wait.

In the video, you can hear the angry motorist yelling: 'Get the car out of the f***ing way!' – only to get a mumbling response in return since he couldn't speak with a mouthful of sausage, bread, and onions.

A bystander then chimed in with a cheeky quip: 'Want a sausage to calm down, bro?'

The social media responses to the video were equally as entertaining, with one person simply asking, 'What did you put in those d*** sausages?' and another cleverly pointing out the issue was 'Old mate treating the sausage sizzle as if it's a drive-thru.'

A third added: 'Love how he's not gonna let a fight stop him from enjoying his Bunnings snag', with another joining the humour and saying: 'The only thing old mate feared was not being able to eat his sausage sizzle…'

For a first-hand look at the drama, check out the video embedded below, but be warned that it contains some aggressive language!

Members, it just goes to show that no matter how stress-inducing a situation can get, humour can always be found in the most unlikely of circumstances.

In this instance, the moral of the story could be: when dealing with an irksome predicament, take a minute, take a breath and take a bite of a Bunnings sausage before you respond (but do try to park your car in the right spot first).

We wish you happier (and hopefully calmer) Bunnings trips in the future! Do you have any similar stories? Share them with us in the comments!

Violence is made of such stuff. It was bad enough with the victim bellowing at the perpetrator, but when a third party decided to stick his oar in, anything could have happened.

Oh! Get a life. Surely waiting 5 minutes or so is not going to spoil your day. Why not get a snag too to fill up the time. Life's too short to let such minor things get to you and there is never a situation made better by the use of bad language. Chill out!

And wander why people get road rage. Selfish prick. Hold up traffic so he could have a sausage. I bet the bastard didn't even apologise.

It seems everyone is in a hurry; manners get thrown out the window. The sausage sizzle guy for being so rude as to stop traffic, and the other driver who was irate because he couldn't move. People need to learn to chill out a bit more.If both behave like that on the road, then accidents will happen
